We now know the top five finishers in the 2018 four Derby PTR contest.
Here's the official announcement.
Stop Fooling The Punter is the runaway winner. With 692,500 points, he put daylight between himself and the other participants. That was one awesome display of handicapping. Stop Fooling The Punter would do well to give a pointer or two to the others about his expertise. Congratulations Sir, I am hoping I'll meet you someday somewhere.
Prinit distinguished himself with a noteworthy score. He had 238,500 points. In a contest that saw some tradition-defying displays, Prinit acquitted himself very well.
BKD's score is 1,71500 and it may not fully reflect his racing acumen. Based on what I have read in Horse Talk, BKD is revered for his pragmatism and has a large following.
What can I say about our Sagar? I lack the competence. He came up with 169,000 points. I hsve spent an afternoon or two with Mr Sagar at Hawthorne and Balmoral (in Chicago) and I was struck by his ability to separate the contenders from the pretenders.
Againstodds, with 162,500 points, took fifth. Not a mean achievement considering the depth of the opposition. In future contests, he will be a force to reckon with.
Congratulations to everyone.
In the four races, I did not have a single winner and I make a living handicapping horses for the Chicago Sun-Times. Don't you think that my readers deserve sympathy?
I consider this a high honor. Good luck to all in your future endeavors.
