In his international debut at Tampa Bay Downs race track in Florida, Indian champion miler Serjeant At Arms made a strong statement by running 2nd in his very first start. Despite running anti-clockwise on turf at 1800m, he finished a length shy of the eventual winner (from stable-mate of Graham Motion). He can only be expected to improve from here!!!

I know they are aware of potential of SAA but shouldn't he be running no more than a mile....as that was always his strength? Very confusing

Sarjeant at Arms is a genuine champion and has performed true to potential. He is sure to win a couple of races in the US.
The million dollar question however, is where are Ice Angel and Hall of Famer today? Both beat Serjeant at Arms, both are trained by Mr. Padmanabhan. How come THEY did not participate internationally? Why are they both down in the dumps? His other so called champions Desert God and another horse (don't remember the name) were sent to the UK and US respectively. They were exposed - both horses were pathetic! Speaks a lot about his training methods!

Indeed this horse haas opened doors for Indian breeders to the USA racing.
They have daily 400-500 races daily and the requirement of horses is huge. Buying horses from India is as cheap as India labour in call centers. Good work by Dhunjibhoy and Shirke. All the best.

Hi all, Sergeant of arms became second in USA today by 3/4 length. It got opened as as fav and closed at 6/5.

Searjent at arms. I think that horse was favorite. Paid 3.4 for place, 2.6 for show.
In usa, place means either win or 2nd. Show means win/second/third.
