Yes you are right. You have thrown enough light on Jockey Suraj Naredus write up. These guys are unable to understand what Suraj has stated.

I dont know when good sense will prevail upon them. Its surprising, these guys dont want any write ups from professionals. I feel they consider themselves as genius.

One guy writes I am a kid in racing and always fail. Look at the language. Horrible.

Come on Patience PAys,

What you are saying? If Suraj had really felt for Corfe Castle, then the header of the news item should have been "Corfe Castle realistic contender for PBM". Isn't it? More than you and me, the indiarace.com journalist who interviewed the jockey knew that the jockey was fancying his chances more on Athaneus, and hence the glittering heading favouring that animal. Simple logic!

My only question (like Raj_Original rightly put it) is why a single person's comments just the day before the big race? There could have been more comments from more people so that there would have been a better balance. That would have not left many neutral-minded punters in confusion.

If you think that Suraj has been quite impartial in saying that every horse had a winning chance, I think I have some serious problem in understanding the language. I'm really sorry!

Your posting has no sense. I am just simply ignoring as I consider its not worth replying as you refuse to learn. But I will continue to correct you when ever you are overboard and pass unwanted and unpleasant comments.

@SSPpunters
"Curse of punters" wat r u even saying.
This is Horse racing
Keep all ua Inhibitions aside

Suraj did say tat Bombay track will suit his horse well. His horse had big strides n he is working on d horse since a month y dint u notice all these things

He said Corfe castle is a realistic contender. He said d mock race was very impressive by Trevor n mentioned babies can improve Exponentially

He gave a glimpse abt all d major contenders
He never said Athaneus gonna win d rsce.

Athaneus had won in hands of Suraj in a notable manner so he said tat is the horse to be beaten.

Corfe Castle dint settle till d bend in his previous run n David Allen thought he could repeat d same thing as he did in the 1st run of Corfe castle n took Athaneus very lightly which cost him d race tat day.

An extra furlong was very ideal for Corfe castle n he won very impressively.

Simply blaming Suraj without proper knowledge will fetch u nothing

I fully agree with Raj-Original that Suraj Narredu had used the opportunity to gorssly mislead the hapless punters. What else to say about a rider who rates another horse better than the one that he himself was set to ride? And, at the end of the day the animal that he fancied the most is not in the board, and his own mount is second. (I think it is the curse of many punters that did not allow him to win this time too?)

I would like to tell seasoned and senior punters contributing in this column that please don't take anyone connected to racing in face value. Why because it's a big racket that has been operating from many corners, and we punters will just be burned to ashes every time.

Kindly tell me what was the need for that bullshit interview of Suraj's in the eleventh hour except for confusing sincere race-goers. He did not heap praise on the ultimate winner like what he did with the other ones..why? They know very well that a word from a popular person like him will bring loads of money in the wrong direction. And that's what finally happened.

I never question the riding credentials of Suraj. He is, of course, one of my favourite jockeys for many years (even after I quit racing). But the fact is that you must know the sentiments of the punters, who are in a dilapidated condition and can fall in any direction. So even a small rumour is enough to pull the rug from under their feet, which was what happened in this case.

I don't know if pre-poll predictions influence the minds of neutral voters in India, but a comment like this by a leading jockey like Suraj can easily mislead even a punter who was otherwise firm on playing some other horse.

May I request Indiarace not to publish a single comment in the future. I remember 'The Hindu' coming out with "What do they say" or "What the Professionals have to say"...something like that where there are many comments and little chance to get carried away.

@Zeddzzz
Most of the ppl who thought like u dint play Corfe castle.
The actual thing is David Allen is here in India because of Poonawala this season n he'll ride only poonawala Horses if they r entered.

If u could c properly Corfe castle is owned by Simone Poonawala n Mr Ramakrishna reddy. Whereas Salvador Dali is owned by Mr.Vazifdar and Poonawala racing n breeders.
So David Allen rode SD. There is nothing to get confused.

Same thing Happened in Bangalore derby Kangra was ridden by Sandesh in Oaks but in derby he had to ride his stable horse Zenon so Trevor got an opportunity to Ride Kangra n he made the most out of it.

Do u have any idea how many lakh people played Athenaus based on Surajs recommendation for PB Million?
Do u have any idea how many lakh left LIL in Pune based on Srinaths comment that it may not stay 2000 m??
Who cares for your or my comments? When jockey talks highly of a horse just before a race people are bound to fall for it.
If I have made money on Surajs mount is he giving it free for me?
He did his job and I did my job.
A kid in racing like you ( not by age) will always fail.
And by the by stop stalking my posts.
Spend that time in finding a winner which are hard to come by for you.
Do u have any idea how much I made on Corfe Castle? I can last for another 6 months loosing every day.

No one has expressed their anguish like you. Please behave.

Suraj has only given his opinion on a particular Horse. In which way he is misleading punters ?

As long as you are strong on your choice, question of fooling does not arise. All the professionals give their views. Whether to take it or leave it is your choice. Mind it, you might have made good amount of money on Surajs mounts, whom you are criticizing now.

No mature person will write in such a fashion. Control your excitement.

Star Superior, Oomph,Athenus are my selection.we cud only c pedigree latest trackform to zero on probable winter inthis race coz we have not seen exact condition of these young one.but whoever win must be great future. It s very sad to c PesiShroff doesn't hve any contender. As a leading and top Trainer shd hve prepared with his stable. I also feel bad RWITC race card of today.Poonawala has generously poured in so much of Stake money for this day,RWITC shd hve organised better Race Card to entertain racing viewers and punters.RWITC failed to fix attractive card.

I don't see Dance the dream anywhere near the winning post.

Mr.Larry and Mr.JP :-
If u have seen the mock race u would hav never spoke about Octavius.
It has run a very poor mock race behind Star bright which finished no where in a Class IV race.

This race is clearly between

Corfe Castle
Athenaeus
Pioneer

Larry,

in your write up you say Athenaeus has no track. That's not true. The horse came to Mumbai 10 days back, and went one good spurt. But the rwitc official clocker was ill that day so he did not attend. That's why it has not been reported.

I am only putting it on record for the benefit of all horse talkers. Whether they bet or not is their choice, but they have right to correct information. The RWITC needs to pull up its socks. Such misinformation about an important runner in the race should be termed criminal.

Atheneaus had a track with Carnival on 22/2 as per RWITC web. The leading trainer has no runners but his owners horses are running with other trainers. After a long time "Beautiful Stranger " owners have a good horse Dance The Dream. The owners have 2 more horses running in 2 other races the same day. They had high hopes of several horses over the years but fizzled out within a year. Even with Beautiful Stranger after winning the PBMM,they won the 2000 Guineas by default after finishing 3rd and the first 2 disqualified due medical infringement. Trainer of DTD is in good form this season and I fancy the trainer to strike rich with a double for this owner and luck favours a treble with Jager Bomb. Alberta another horse of the owner can also win for trainer S.S.Shah. My choice for PBMM:
Dance The Dream,Corfe Castle, Pioneer and Salvador Dali. Sometimes luck is needed to win big races. If people can remember the same race few years back how Lancaster went wide turning for home and almost ran at the far end and lost in very close finish. Regarding Octavius the jockey is the big minus. He is not a jockey for big races. All the best and may the best horse this day win.

Your different mode approach is correct. stick to it.
Corfe Castle will romp home. After all Trevor mount is always a bonus.
Bangalore horses and hyd horses come from B grade centers. But this one with mock race, Trevor is an exception.
Suraj has been instructed to mislead about ATHENAUS.
its Corfe Castle all the way .It loves to come from behind and 1400 is ideal .

All right, so let me pitch in my bit for the PBM 2018.
Out of the 11 that would come under the starter's orders I knock off Astral Force, Athenaeus, Pulverize, and Albe Marie straight away. I know some might scoff at the fact that I've included Athenaeus in this list, but a Hyderabad horse, in fact an outstation horse, with not a single track, well, I don't give 'em much consideration. The rest are ignored either for lack of preparation, or based on past runs.

Let me start off with
Corfe Castle
Two excellent tracks in Bombay, and with a rep to protect (Full brother to Ruffina), he seems to be right there. I for one would be keenly watching the performance of this one based on the fact that he's Ruffina's sibling, as I have mentioned in the past that I for one believe that it's a filly that acquires qualities from the Sire, not a colt, and if there's any element of truth in what I've found in my research, this is one good opportunity for me to help vindicate this belief of mine, because it's the numbers on the Sire side that are impressive for this one (for this distance).
His second run shows an improvement of 7L, so that's a very good sign, however, the fact that I don't see really impressive numbers on the Dam side (once again, for this distance), and the fact that he's not shown good acceleration over the last 200m in the last run, this one does not really rate too high in my scheme of things.
LR 200m timings 24.90,37.10,48.90,59.80,1-12.18
Secs taken for every 200m 12.20 11.80 10.90 12.38 (I'm not impressed with the fractional timings.)

Salvador Dali
Now here's one more outstation one with not a single track here. I was tempted to include him in the list above, however the fact that David Allan is on this one, I have to consider him further.
LR 200m timings 23.72, 35.39. 47.04, 1-00.02, 1-13.82
Secs taken for every 200m 11.67 11.65 12.98 13.80

Star Superior
A debut victory over 1400 is surely special, and gets this one right into contention.
LR 200m timings 25.07, 36.59, 48.98, 1-01.24, 1-13.12, 1-25.76
Secs taken for every 200m 11.52 12.39 12.26 11.88 12.64

Dance The Dream
A debut victor, though over 1200, needs consideration.
LR 200m timings 24.19, 36.30, 47.43, 0-59.09, 1-11.11
Secs taken for every 200m 12.11 11.13 11.66 12.02

Oomph
Ignoring this one vis-a-vis run with Pioneer.

Now I move on to the ones that I fancy the most.
PIONEER
Winner over 1400 in 2nd run after a victory on debut over 1200. 1.5L improvement in 2nd run.
LR 200m timings 25.23, 36.79, 49.39, 1-01.39, 1-12.59, 1-24
Secs taken for every 200m 11.56 12.60 12.00 11.20 11.41

OCTAVIUS
Well rested, well tracked, good tracks. 2nd career run, room for improvement.
LR 200m timings 24.91, 37.65, 49.57, 1-01.59, 1-13.14
Secs taken for every 200m 12.74 11.92 12.02 11.55

On comparing the fractional timings, I find Octavius has shown the best acceleration over the final furlong, followed by Pioneer and Salvador Dali.

Moving on to a different mode to try zero in on the winner, I compared the timings of the above with the highest rated horse on the day they ran, and based on my way of working out ratings based on this study, my findings are as follows.

Corfe Castle 77
Dance the Dream 63
Octavius 62
Pioneer 59
Salvador Dali 58
Star Superior 41

Now this has truly put me in a dilemma, as the one with the highest rating does not figure in my scheme based on other findings.
Anyways, combining both my studies, I'd rather go with the following combination.

Octavius for win
Pioneer second
Dance the Dream, Salvador Dali, and Corfe Castle for the remaining spots.
