Please give your choice for INVITATION CUP only. I am with confidence say it will not be ROCHESTER, Lady in Lace, Temerity or Manifold. Will give my choice once I get all the responses. This posting should hit a century. Come on Guys....go ahead.....

Even I was thinking that LIL is too good in this bunch. Kangra many might have discarded; but it had as solid credentials as any other in the field.

Oldsters Temerity and Salazaar finishing 2nd and 3rd proved that the classic crop is of poor quality. Fancied Jodi of LIL and Rochester made no impact and Manifold folded up once again. Full credit to SS Attaolahi for nursing back Kangra to peak fitness after its sapping Bangalore Derby win. Sandesh kept Kangra going when Temerity challenged. And let's not be unnecessarily critical of Neeraj's riding on Temerity. He tried his best and Temerity gave off its best. It's just that on the day, Kangra proved to be too good.

Congrats to owners the Mahindras, Attaolahi and Sandesh....

GoadzillA I have already nominated SALAZAR along with corrosponding data.That time I didn't consider these 4 year olds JUST LOOK AT TODAYS SPRINTERS CUP results.All 4 yr olds only 1 2 3 4. Exclusively for this reason only I changed my preference to ROoCHESTER. I am the firstone who nominated Rochester for the INDIAN DERBY in these coulmns. With reasons.On Jan 22,2018 there is a discussion on LADY IN LACE started by HEERA.I said THERE IS A QUANTUM LEAP IN THE IMPROVEMENT OF ROCHESTER.MAY IMPROVE MUCH FURTHER.I WILL GO WITH IT.So GODZILLA think again.No hard feelings.Lady in lace, Manifold,Star carnation might occupie much higher berths than SALAZAR and TEMERITY

Temerity is a horse who is performing well since last invitation win and has a very good chance to win invitation back to back..she looks well prepared for the big event and Neeraj who knows her well is another plus point to consider temerity for win

I think western horses will dominate this race.

Rochester Temerity Manifold and then there is Alaindair as well.

Don't see anyone else beating the awesome four.

If by any chance there is any bolt from the blue then it could be Star carnation out of Attractress. Not sure how an experienced trainer did not give enough exposure to this horse before the Bangalore derby and the invitation. Well he is the trainer he knows better.

P.S Calcutta is a graveyard for punters. Be careful and stay away from wagering atleast these two days.

For me it is S A L A Z A A R....

This horse has improved a lot. It towers over the rest. Age is not a issue here, so too handicap.

Rochester and Lady in Lace may not withstand the onslaught of great SALAZAAR.

My choice is Lady in Lace.reason is before Indian Derby all contenders were kept in tip top condition but LIL had some problem and hence it was treated for that.so In Derby it didn't prepared fully well but the owners Trainer thought and decided to contest coz of just one mock race.inspite if such condition LIL beat all top contenders except Rochester.it shd be best ignored.Now having taken enough rest LIL must capable of taking even older horse.So my choice is LIL.incase as predicted by me if it not happen then we can forget LIL infuture classics.

Rochester as per info has no chance LIL is better fancied by the connections. The older horses will finish ahead of the youngsters. Alandair, Terminity, LIL, will fight it out.

10 horses running in Invitation cup

I am leaving ALAINDAIR,TEMERITY,SEDULOUS,KANGRA,STAR CARNATION,MAHATEJI AND LADY IN LACE

THIS leaves out to be straight fight between much improved horse SALAZAAR ,ROCHESTER and who didn't shown his true potential in Indian derby its MANIFOLD.

HT is a forum for free exchange of views. I must admit I've learnt quite a bit from HT posts. And on the race course, I've learnt that one should not have laughed at guys who backed Diabolical, Riyasat and Mogadishu. So, it's a bit disturbing to see words like funny, pathetic and pity being used by some posters for others' selections. Admin should rein in such persons by warning them and then blocking their IP addresses..

What a joke Godzilla... winner won’t be out of Rochester...Lil..Teremity.... Manifold. It’s like telling except Virat, Shikhar, Rohit, Dhoni who will score a century! Personally I feel Teremity defeat was an eyewash to get good odds. So I am fancying

Tobe frank, anyone opening a thread shud first give his personal choice and then invite others to the forum. I wonder why you want to disclose your fancied horse after you get all the responses? That's a clear negative thought.

Then, look at how that fellow 'Patience Pays' jumps the gun? 'I will quit racing if Kangra wins". Who is bothered whether this punter continues to punt or not. I gave up racing some four years ago not because I did not have money to continue with my game, but only because I realized I am unable to keep pace with the changing trends. I want to tell PP not to make bold statements like this in the future as no one is worried about your playing but the animal winning. Got it?

Finally, my choice : It can't be any other horse than Rochester because he has proved everything right. And the gap that he has had now from Derby is more than sufficient to reproduce that run. Having said that, I keep my fingers crossed because it's after all racing. Horse racing and Indian Cricket are never to be believed beyond a point?

Salazar.Won gong away from Whomakestherules in the Golkonda st lager.Same Whomakestherules ran very close to Temerity later. I felt Salazar is the horse to be beaten in the coming Invitation Cup.Salazar repeated the same kind of acceleration in beating Azzurro in Mysore.If you can overlook the loss to Escala in Madras,Salazar will be a live contender and in my view should win going away.

In my opinion looking at how race is run Kangra will go to the front and she sets her pace herself and I can guess it will be a slow pace and everybody wants to win this cup and this doesn't suit temerity's running, temerity needs fast pace she needs a fast pacemaker, she lost Indian Derby because of slow pace made by hall of famer and the timing says itself that temerity needs a fast pace, she was the fastest travelling horse in the field in the Derby, she won invitation last year because of fast pace set by hall of famer, and Bangalore track is very hard to set pace and win this graded race hence hall of famer suffered blood vessels, and temerity won in record time, last time also B52 made his own pace and won so she lost that race, but if the race is run at fast pace she has every chance of winning this cup again!!! Another runner catches my eye is SALAZAAR, this horse won Chennai Derby and within 15 days he travelled to Mumbai and lost 5 lengths to the winner, after that he didn't run to his true potential because he had his stablemate running in his races, (captain Morgan) I think he has pedigree, jockey and class to win this cup, lady in lace , lady is a wonderful temperament filly she understands the race well runs well from off the pace which is the main advantage here, based on pedigree charts and her previous runs I personally fancy her upto 2200 and jockey factor takes her to 2300 that's it. MANIFOLD, no doubt her staying ability she won Oaks in good time and has pedigree, a powerful stable combo pesi and Ameeta, and the jockey probert is doing fine with her winning Oaks, and ill judged riding in Derby (sitting with prevalent force for too long Then thinks he wasted 150 mts with PF) hope this time he won't make that happen. all the best to MANIFOLD AND HER CONNECTIONS, my pick MANIFOLD, SALAZAAR AND ROCHESTER. Comments are welcome.

Rochester, Manifold and LIL are the prime contenders for Invitation Cup. Difficult to choose amongst the three. Amongst the three, Rochester possesses the maximum scope for improvement. So, I would say he has a thin edge.
Temerity may not be able to give weight to youngsters.
Kangra was losing speed towards the end in her Derby win in Bangalore and looks doubtful to win here.
Star Carnation, if he improves on his Derby run, has an outside chance.

My choice is ROCHESTER. C.S Jodha wants to prove that his win and skill is no fluke. Also horse's win was no fluke. Being a Colt it has clear advantage over fillies.
Alandair,star carnation, sedulous, Mahateji, Kangra,Salazar can be considered as with drawn horses.
It will not matter if they run or with drawn.

Looks like you have one of them as your WINNER. Can't help you change your mind. After all you are a stubborn senior.

Temerity, Manifold,LIL will follow Rochester. In what order? God only knows.

I actually wanted to say it is going to be 4 fillies Invitation forgetting Kangra. With Kolkota straight shorter than Bangalore Kangra also stands a and good chance. Luck of the race plays an important role and wish all that there should not be any hard luck stories like Manifold had it in Indian Derby. I still feel Termerity has an edge.

For me LADY IN LACE is already past the post with MANIFOLD making a late bid to place a good 2nd.

Whereas, TEMERITY will NOT be in the first three.

Bookies will have a whale of a time laying both Win & Place on Temerity.

Hi All Friends ,First of all, For Invitation Cup to be run on Merit There should not be A Rider like Srinath who is a Bookie`s jockey and can make this sport very Dangerous.

Srinath riding in Indian Derby 2018 is witness of his Cruel Intentions.
srinath and Suraj had plans to help Lady in Lace to Win in Indian Derby.
Srinath played his role to perfection by not allowing Manifold to run right from last 400 mtrs. Srinath made PF come on him n at one time whipped on David Probert`s hands if you see video replays on Upper Frame you all will understand what was going on in Indian Derby 2018.
Plans of Srinath n Suraj failed and Rochester won , So Middle finger hurts most for these 2 Riders.

In Invitation same Story will repeat.
So don`t trust lady in lace .this time win/place is doubtful.

If Indian Derby is Run on merit and Rochester won on Merit,Play this horse with Confidence.

Rochester win/place for Invitation cup.

What a joke Godzilla...saying it won’t be Lil, Teremity, Rochester or Manifold. It’s like asking who will make a century except Rohit , Shikhar, Virat or Dhoni? My take.... all the above mentioned will run a great race. But I am giving a very good chance to Teremity and then Lil. The rest don’t count. It’s so funny that some people are tipping Stat Carnation and Sedulous.

My choice for Invitation Cup is Star Carnation. He was given an atrocious ride in the Bangalore Winter Derby. See the video replay. The way he was eating up the ground towards the end, if he reproduces that finish in Kolkata, then he would be unstoppable....
And don't forget David Allen will in the saddle. Add 2 lengths for horsemanship....

For the invitation cup, I cannot look beyond Temerity.
She will surely run a big race and is head and shoulders above the current crop of 4yrs old.
For me the invitation is in the safe hands of Temerity.
1st 5yr old to win this race and a back to back winner.

Temerity Could possibly be the First to bag the Invitation twice, Lady In Lace Will be in the thick of the tussle and has the best chances to topple everyone if Temerity fails to show its true potential. Manifold will perform better than it did in the Derby.

Red Cheiftan, Sedulous is a superb classic horse who is yet to reveal her true potential and for me her run in the Bangalore Oaks was impressive and would have hacked the field if entered in the recently concluded Bangalore derby.

All the best to Sedulous team and I hope S.John will ride the horse to its true potential. Come on S.John!!! "Nothing is Impossible"

I checked and checked and was shocked to see the acceptance of Sedelous in the Invitaiton. A horse rated around 50. IS this a mistake or is it really going to participate.
