Clubs run races for the owners and betting is accepted on voluntary basis and earn for paying stake money and other expenses. Though the stake money was lower and very high stakes was offered in Chennai,the RWITC owners stayed and sent some token representations. Why? Maybe the connections are together. We do not have such togetherness. I have said several times like Mr.Raghavan, to play select few races everyday and preferably place. In Chennai sometimes there will be betting on 3 centres and I have noticed people running here and there as though racing is going to end that day. Very rarely I have backed more than one centre.
Racing is through out the year and almost everyday.The connections race their horses many times in a season but win when they want and they gamble accordingly. Racing is very dirty and not as clean as it was in olden days. I am 70 years of age and I am into racing since I was in High school. We can also wait and gamble on select races and try to earn or retain your investment for long.

club is not forcing anyone to bend for betting. Betting is a voluntary act. The people who lost their bet on castlebridge, temerity are the towering witness. In the said races, there were 3 & 2 horses.

The population of Mumbai may be 3 cr. In any case more than 2.5 cr. Among them how many visit the race course?

You say good horses are at cramped odds. Hence not worth betting. Excellent. Bet only those horses for place on which you are confident about. If no such horses visible then skip. Even if you have to skip entire races in a day, no problem. You will not earn anything. But your paisa will be with you. If can not withhold the urge to bet, then there is tote. Where even 2OO bets are accepted. [the minimum bet is 1O/-] . Buy forecast, trinella on an out lay of 2OO or less.

"Why mumbai has only 4-5 runners in few races of the day?"

Even if there are only 3 horses, there will be no let up in betting. But, why you are worried? Wait for the horses that impress you, is running at reasonable odds, and is having at least 8 runners. Can not understand people murmuring about the small fields and still indulging in betting. Let there be zero betting in such races. Treat that as mock race.

"We are not sure what connections will be in paddock...if we bet on good horse and this gets loss"?

This problem is as old as racing. No one will pity/sympathise with a punter. You bet to the extent you can bet without compromising your life style. If you bet son's fees, housing EMI etc. then you only should face the consequences.

Please understand that today's racing is only for looting the racing public. No more an entertainment or time pass.

Cards are made at acceptence stage, with a clear understanding of the connection's and club's, as to which horse will win that particular race. Only 2 or 3 races are allowed to run on merit, other's are manipulated / fixed racing, to take away your's and my money.

Keep this in mind when you are in the race course.

Take note :

Syces can today cancel or postpone racing, only by giving notice of strike, but we fools (punters) never come together and unite. We too can acheive some fair racing by just say about 20 to 30 punters entering the paddock and protesting for 15 minutes. Yes, police will be called, but just come out say after protesting for 15 minutes, and see the change of races, all for our better.
