The Ebco Maharaja Sir Harisinghji Trophy ( Grade 2

By Dharmesh | 08-Apr-2018
RACE #3 THE EBCO MAHARAJA SIR HARISINGHJI TROPHY ( GRADE 2)
———————————————————-
Tricky, as many of these are closely matched on recent/collateral form. #2 WHOMAKETHERULES and #7 NEW ENGLAND are both last start winners but later appeals on weights against first (WMTR) and third name (B52) and will appreciate the step up in distance. #3 B FIFTY TWO and #4 YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY have the form to be competitive but must also overcome wide draw. #6 THEMIS is another last start winner but drops sharply in distance, has age and weights in favour. #9 SUPREME GENERAL is best on handicap and can beat this lot but need a crystal ball to say when. Rest doesn’t impress for a win.

TOP PICK #7 NEW ENGLAND
WATCH OUT FOR #9 SUPREME GENERAL

Varun... Your observation in respect of place prospects of the runners excellent. You fancied Y R M strongly and it comes to fruition must be real sweet. Being a terms race with 10 runners, i would not be able to pick first 3 placings. Congrats Keep it up.

By looking at her last start although she clocked a good timing, themis will not even finish on board in this seasoned campaigners it's too hot for her to overcome this set, and WMTR Won Super Mile in a record time and made a favourite here.. Seriously? He won in 400mts no grass track, I agree he came from behind and won, in mahalakshmi track he can't do that because of 600mts straight, Supreme general may strike in this set, he is the dark horse here who can upset applecart. I strongly fancy YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY, he should prevail in this set.

@ MM
Looks tough for B52. P Trevor is retained by Shapoor hence has no other options.

Last time both raced was on equal wts in CAL.Today new England 6 kgs better has to cover 2.5 lts to beat W.M.T.R

Latest spurt of WMTR is the best seen on MUM race course in the whole season.

So going on it my choice is WMTR to beat new England.

Others will be also ran category.

Dharmesh, I have liked your analysis. I think the Race will be a good fight out among 2,7,9. Good luck

My Choice: B FIFTY TWO-WIN
--------------------------

Reasons:
Reference Race No.149 Projected timings:

3. B Fifty Two 98.30* (Champion jockey Trevor again partnering. Trever seen giving extensive trials on him. Vanquisher of Temerity and Neeraj was suspended. Not visible a horse of the calibre of Temerity in this field. Projected time adjusted accordingly. An automatic choice for the top prize)

7. New England 98.47 (Three horses - 3,4,7 - are better on handicap vis-a-vis race No.149. However his latest Win in Race No.248 shows VAST IMPROVEMENT and hence the projected time revised

9. Supreme General 99.19+ (2 Kg Overweight expected)

4. Your Royal Majesty 99.24+ (Regular jockey Neeraj Rawal seen tracking WMTR + outer draw are negative factors)

If NEW ENGLAND tries start to finish attempt, there is a possibility stable mate B FIFTY TWO may steal the march. This race is in the safe custody of Imtiaz Sait. Instead of following the hot favourite New England, I will take a chance on b Fifty Two.

MY CHOICE:
3-B FIFTY TWO - WIN/SHP

@ Dharmesh
New England and 1600m?
Too hard to believe that it's your top pick.
