Serjeant At Arms

By Sentinel | 09-Apr-2018
Serjeant At Arms finished a miserable 6th of 8 at Keeneland today in an "Allowance Race" over 8.5 furlongs on the turf.

Not given a great ride by Lynch but it would not have made the slightest difference.

Should have stayed at home.

The day India will figure on the international racing scene will be when it allows overseas horses to compete in India and stops this "protectionism".

Indian breeders will never let this happen, so we remain an embarrassment when we travel abroad, barring the couple of horses that have succeeded in the past.

Sad to see a good horse's record go downhill just for an ego trip.

He will be another case like Desert God. Disgracing himself. He can’t Evan pace with those horses who look much bigger and rounder than him. Poor horse doesn’t know what’s hit him there. Fur gul Lynch was a total failure jockey in India and UK he should be a work rider in the USA. Sad to see a horse disgracing himself.

Yes, you are very likely accurate in your assessment, still one lives in hope that things might improve.

I think a major problem is that since the 1980s the Committee / Stewards have formed two camps and this has led to a deep division in how racing is conducted. The Stipendiary Stewards seem toothless.

I have no idea where the solution lies. If there is a solution.

Very depressing.

Nice bit of sense of humour! Much appreciated!

Well for one the opposition is no pushover in US. Secondly the trip is out of Compass. Atleast to really give SAA a half decent chance perhaps the owners should try SAA over 7 f, which in my view is the best trip of SAA. He should be able to earn its cornbill soon.

Serjeant At Arms owners colors were shinning and better than others in paddock. SAA ran very well till bend and failed. May be this horse missing Indian VADA PAO?

Indian Horses are not allowed to run to its true potential even in India. How do you expect the champion horses to come forward ?

Most of the good horses that are participating in India are meant to run negative in Races after becoming favourites to fill in the coffers of owners by unscrupulous means.
