Hi all I want to buy a couple of horses in October 2nd auction in Malakpet. I have paid taxes for income of more than 15 lakhs per year for last 3 years (someone told me it was a prerequisite). I want a complete information as all learned people and horse owners are there in horse talk. I also want to know how much I have to pay monthly for each horse to the trainer. And I want to know how to approach a trainer. I will prefer to give the horses to trainer Arjun Anne.

Thank you all for your valuable advice. It's not about losing money. It is my dream to own race horses. Giving my financial condition I will have zero impact if I buy a few horses for about 20 lakhs and pay maintenance/medical expenses for them for 10 years.

If you are really serious to own a race horse, then this is the right time.
Some have already explained about Financial planning.
Along with that, I would like to suggest you to go through some books on Horse Anatomy, as this would help you to look into conformation, which is very very important for a race horse.
Get introduced to any good trained through a good reference. Trainer's first and foremost analysis would be "how long you would survive if everything goes wrong". If the answer that he finds is one/two years, then he wont spend much time and effort on your horses.
If you want to own 2 yo, you need to very very patient.
General advise is in the first year take a quarter share and try to learn the tricks of the trade.

I am not sure whether to give this advice or not, as far as i know, no owner has made money in racing,(as i know many and sat next to them as and when i got a time, from 40 years or so) still, if you want to buy a horse you be prepared to lose minimum ten+ lacks(horse cost, maintenance).Again betting is different.
As i saw you couple of times in HYDERABAD members stand, meeting the trainer is easy and you can introduce yourself as you met him in get-together couple of years back.
PS: Before last year couple of my acquaintances/friends bought two horses and became paupers,(still their horses won), luckily they got flourishing business

Just forget about it .that sharks of racing will eat you up
.
As a 2 r old you buy a horse from rs 3 to 20 lakhs One year trainer ,expenses rs 25 to 40,000 [one top trainer,charges rs one lakh per month].
God help you in medical expenses it can be rs 50,000 to rs 2 lakh per year.
Any single owner the trainer will give last priority to your horse.
If yo are still keen get in a syndicate in HYD and MUM. This will ensure less expenses and care of your investments

You have to contact the trainer and race club officials and satisfy them about your income and interest in racing field. After their green signal only you can proceed further. Monthly expenditure will be 15 to 20 thousand per horse.

First you have to contact the trainer than along with trainer you have face to face talk with club officials and satisfy them about your income and interest in racing field. If satisfied they will give you green signal. Monthly expenditure will be 15 to 20 thousand per horse.

giving you a good advice .... take the thought of buying a horse or horses out of your mind
200000 will be the yearly maintenance
500000 the horse will cost
then your stakes in gambling increases
if you are very very lucky then you might win in your first horse
but then your greed will say to buymore horses and then doomsday will be near
no offence to anyone

In hyd u can contact any trnr freely bt become a ownr in hyd its not an easy job as compare to other centrs 5 lac i t yerly & an interview to satisfy the chairmn & stwrds trnrs role is nothing already evry trnr got many frsh persns applicatns r pendng
