Saturday - Racing Journalists Trophy

Bhaktawar should win. There should be no excuses.

It is my Days Best Bet for Saturday.

Let us see what happens. It should not come last like Harrier who was declared as EIPH 2 Bleeder after the Race. Punters lost huge money on Harrier.

Bhaktawar will become favourite and punters will be hoping atleast one should favourite should oblige. Pray God for Bhaktawars win.

Dear Savio,
The information you gave about Bhaktawar has been elaborated by Tom Krish.
Thanks for your suggestion!.
Melbourne Cup is on 6 th November which is far away.i may not stay here till then.
Dear Godzilla,
Thanks for your enquiry.
Yes,I am in Melbourne at least till 24 July and will return to Bangalore.
During the ensuing Madras season ,I am likely to visit Madras and we can meet then.
I am much older to you and I should be saying what you said!
I am also following IPL and am much impressed by Rana and Sanju Samson among the youngsters.
No guarantee who will will.
My choice ,however,is Sunrisers .
Dear Tom,
Thanks for all the details about the horse and owners.
I think even Pandu Khade also rode Bhaktawar on a couple of occasions.

Guys

As expected Bhakatwar came last. I was anxiously awaiting for the result at indiarace.com site.

Temporarily I am no more a bhakt of Bhaktawar. Bhakatwar should win on the second run at Pune after touching the board, may be fifth spot on five year old and above set.

Someone wrote that the owner of Bhakatwar is a true sport. He or She lived upto the expectation of Punters. So too Dashrath Singh yesterday on all his mounts.

I saw Bakthawar, then a three year-old, win a 1600-metre non-descript race on the opening day of the 1965-66 Mumbai season. S M Shah, who recently passed away, was the trainer. M D Mehta ad Mrs Tejwaney were the owners. Rajoo was the winning jockey. Flower Dust was the sire and the dam was Auroden.

Bakthawar won again over 1600 metres the following week. A week later or perhaps two weeks later, the S M Shah pupil was assigned top weight in a 2000-metre contest. Bakthawar made it three in a row. He beat Prathna, the post time favorite, ridden by Shamu Chavan. I remember Bakthawar opened 6/4 and drifted to 4/1.

Bakthawar's contemporaries were Red Rufus, Monitor and Humour. Red Rufus, trained by Meherjee and ridden by Raghunath, won the Triple Crown and the 1966 Invitation Cup held in Mumbai.

Bakthawar carried weights over routes and won several important races. Jagdish rode him in many of those victories.

During that time, George Mcgrath, was riding for the Iranis and the Dagas.

Princess Royal, a full sister to Bakthawar, won a race here (1968-70)and there but could not match the brilliance of her brother.

A very closely handicapped race.Very difficult to pick up a winner. However I feel that Rapid Girl is better placed than the others, and should win in a tight finish.

Stop fooling punter

I have requested punters to pray as Bhakatwar should not bleed like Harrier during its run and come last. Praying is for Bhakatwars good health and win.

If you take the two previous runs of Bhaktawar with Kiran Naidu, it hit the front, which itself is a track work and in the next run it came from behind as the connections probably wanted to test its burst.

Now with Dasarath piloting, the horse should be on job.

When you open an separate thread It is for some thing special and a detailed explanation.

So why here why not in the normal column. Now to the horse has a poor record so far the following will be in the run.

R PURSUIT , Fribourg Rapid girl and Royal classic Rapid girl has run well and my bet with 75% place and 25% win.

Godzilla last line is amusing '' Pray god for BH'WARS WIN. Some thing new I have learnt today in racing that by praying to god horses will win

Dr. Nath

Namasthe. Where are you - in Australia ? Good you are taking interest in Races happening in India.

Next time, when you come to Bangalore, I will meet you all guys, before I kick the bucket, which I hope may not happen in the near future.

We are enjoying Racing and IPL, a rare double bonanza. In IPL some excellent very young dashing new Indian players have emerged. In the days to come people may forget Sachin Tendulkar once for all who has been living on short term past glory.

Hi Godzy,

Good choice. I also feel the same. The owner of Bakhtawar is a true sport not a gambler like the others. He has a few horses in Mysore which always run on merit. One which comes to my mind is Sans Frontieres. I forget the names of the others.

It is not the hype. It is the winner, one points out out of a big bunch. If that horse wins, it will be a thrill to the guy who pointed as likely winner much in advance.

Whether its a big Race or small Race, winner will yeild dividends.

I remember a horse named Bhaktawar running in Bombay during Sixties.
It was a versatile horse and was known for winning carrying +60 kg on many occasions.
There was some discussion elsewhere about the highest weight a horse carried and won.
Could Bhaktawar figure in that?
