Even though I am not betting this derby,I feel Star superior will be hard to beat. Suraj is just focussed on one mount.

Dear Godzilla Sir ur comments towards big person is correct in Racing circuit.i would like to bring some more for our members.
Round No:1 Bangalore coltes trail stakes- won by RoyalTern,Own Opinion came second.Round No:2 Bangalore Derby win by RoyalTern,Ownopinion second.Round No:3- Invitation cup-Mumbai-won by Ownopinion,RoyalTern second.entire course spell bound for few seconds.Mumbaikers not belived it s true RoyalTern was beaten.they r not able to accept it.even stewards didn't consider it.that s the reason to give RoyalTern one more chance created a new stakes race like Invitation cup from that year eventually RoyalTern won that race.Iwnopinion didn't participated.
Now coming to present scenario I feel if any other horse take pacemaker it would be easy for SirCicil or SS has little chance.extra distance favour for both horse s but certainly not for Punjabi girl.My choice is SC and Pady!!

Some strange thoughts enter mind on the eve of Derby Day !!!!
If the big owner would have been alive, he would have made the small Card of Derby quite interesting !!!
He would have used Sir Cecil as pace maker for Punjabi Girl and Star Superior for Rikki Tikki Tavi !! and left to the jockeys of PG and RTT to fight for honours. We are badly missing him now !!! Bookies need not pay for Win or Place then!!!
Remember guys Native Chieftan winning Derby at 100 to 1 odds !!! The entire money of Punters deposited with Bookies...should be in lakhs and lakhs of rupees all centres put together. Can anyone do that daring act amongst present owners !! One need guts.

The card is out. Trevor rides SC and Suraj is back on SS. Time for SS to get his revenge....
It will be all about tactics. Who will be the pacemaker? If no pacemaker, then will Trevor give SC it's head and let him go to the front? If so, will Suraj be able to catch SC in the straight?

Excited! Was am I, that we would have a cracking Derby this time with some good 3yrs around, but saddened that its again SC vs SS, they are orher good horse at the circuit this time but not participating.

Sir Cecil and Star Superior should be involved again in the finish for the Blue Riband of the Bangalore Summer season. But this time SS should turn the tables on SC. Van Dyke is the Joker in the pack. Punjabi Girl is discounted here as the Colts appear a stronger lot.

if the track work given by star superior on 4-7-18 is correct as shown in indiarace.com then u can forget SC.STAR S WILL LIFT THE BANGLORE DERBY BY 3 TO 4 LENGTHS.

In the derby field rating of two one Sir Cecil (76) and second Star Spllluperior (72) is far superior/ ahead compare to other contenders and one surprise aspect is even after finishing first and second in Colts Championship Stakes no penalty given and the same ratings of both retained. Similarly before winning Fillies Championship Stake the rating of Punjabi Girl was 58 and after winning fillies championship the present rating is 59. As far as choice between SC and ASK is concerned purely on dam side my preference goes to SC.

When they last met SS and SC were made to run like sprinters by both the jockeys. Thats the reason Sir Cecil lost much of the fuel in the tank.
In a long distance race, if Trevor is on SC, he will settle the horse beautifully and go for the kill in the last 400 metres, preserving much of stamina in SC.
Star Superior is nothing but a Sprinter it seems, the way Suraj had adopted the tactics on it so far.
If you look at Trevors riding, he almost matches with Pesi and Aslams riding depending on the distances involved. That speaks volumes of the Jockey to study the race and go for the onslaught at the appropriate time. Only a few gifted jockeys will attain such standards. If I am right, Trevor won a Race in Australia which is so difficult to adapt to conditions there.

Sir cecil should prevail again. For me 2000 metres will suit more to sir cecil than star superior. It also looks like P Trevor will ride Sir Cecil which will be a definite plus.
One more factor one has to look is penetrometer reading and likely soft underfoot conditions

Hello All,
STAR SUPERIOR will be win the race by 2 lengths no question about it. Whoever the Jockey he need to run Stalking position and gave the horse the green signal at 400 metres mark. And drew away the field.
