Guys

I was watching the ride of Akshay Kumar on Knotty Ash at home. It was an excellent and matured ride given by him.

Akshay made Knotty to just lead. When challenged by Trevor on Mangolian King coming thru shortest way, Akshay kept plenty in reserve on Knotty Ash and drew away from MK by giving a crack or two and then riding vigorously. This is the way Champions ride. Zervan on Hukum was embarrassing. Perhaps Hukum has not relished the conditions at Mysore. Thats the only excuse can be given for Hukum.

From now on, Akshay Kumars mounts in classics should be watched closely and not taken easily. He is a great rider in the making and can challenge one and all.

KA is rated 60 one point less than my second estimate.

Whether my id appears on top or bottom, I keep writing in HT regularly. If you dont want to read, close your eyes. Dont discourage and dont be negative.
Also dont tell me what I should do or not ?

Mr. Godzilla:. Knotty Ash's rating was 58 before this latest win. After his career debut first win he straight away given rating of 58 points and the same rating was not changed after second run because he was beaten by another debutant horse Sea quest and later SQ alloted the rating of 72 points for beating Athenaeus and KA horses of higher rating. This time I think the rating of KA will not be changed because he beat the horses which are having lesser rating than him. Still as you said rightly we will wait and see the official rating, how far our assessment is correct?

Knotty Ash's last run against Sea quest was taken lightly whereas the fact was KA ran second to a horse which broken the record of six furlong race in debut run and defied and proved wrong almost everybody's selections. After finishing second in that fastest time and considering KA's highest rating in points KA was very well placed and he won as expected. MK might have felt the 5kg weight difference to his disadvantage. Jockey AK proved again his riding skills and showed if good chance rides are given to him, he is going to deliver and his vigorous riding will be a added advantage. I salute the entire team of KA. A splendid performance to remember. This was only the third run of KA, he will further go in races between six to eight furlong races.All the best.

super cool rider, from now on it will be a fight for class between him,suraj, trever, and sandesh.i definitely think akshay has the class in him to sustain and be their at the top for longer period.

Sorry for a slight diversion from the topic.Sometime back there was a discussion on Wins in Terms races and Winner penalties.I opined that it is possible to predict revision of rating before the Ratings are declared by Handicapper.

Yesterday's Colts Trail stakes at Mysore I expect the Winner Knotty Ash to be rated 54 or 61.Let me see the Official Rating.

Akshay Kumar is a good rider but he has lot to prove on national level..he is full jockey (no allowance) since long and he would have proved his talent in classics in previous oppertunities itself..
Still i wish him a good luck and a bright future just like Sir Cecil

Dear Godzilla,
Akshay Kumar is not a allowance jockey which keeps him in making process..no doubt he is a good rider and we should respect him for that.when it comes to classics he might hav had not many then atleast few classics to his name already untill now to compete with Indian Champion Jockies which is missing for his resume..
