The Golden Edition Plate Div. 2

By Golden Girl | 20-Jul-2018
A total 15 horses have accepted to run this race. However the race seems to be confined to be between in three horses.i.e.Queens Quest,Sassy and Sia.The bookies have opened good odds for all the horses,as they think it is very difficult to pin point the winner .
As per my calculations Q.Q. is very well placed to win ,easily. Is is opened at 4 to 1.It is worth betting at these odds in this race.It has the best draw, and last time it ran,it was an on money failed favourite.A.T.B.

I am still at home due to a back injury and cannot afford rs 17000 for live tx that too for 9 months.I have opted for BNG for 4500 for one full calender year

So no way could have known about this. Horses put on wt.when there is no racing and they are not exercised at all. It was not done in this case

Ganapathys are the laziest trainers not going in the mornings and taking things for granted. Zero accountability

I am simply amazed at this owner who is is losing money in racing without playing penny! that too in a big way

Horses not earning even 10$ of stake money are just white elephants. How long can this carry on.

@ Golden Girl

DANCING PRANCES, according to RWITC website, weighed 557 kg. when he won the S.C. Jain Sprinters' Championship, Gr.2 at Mumbai 17 Feb 2017, A. Imran Khan up. I do not know if it record but that is highest winning body weight I know. Horse won 15 races and his body weight was always over 500 kgs.

There is interesting Korean scientific paper by H.K. Lee and K.D. Park concerning body-weight and weight-carried. (Can be found by Google). Anyone interested is referred to it.

You are absolutely right that the weight of the horse must be taken into consideration, but the weight of the horse is given only 15 minutes before the race starts. So watching the wt. before betting is a must for the punters.I always do that.

@ Stop fooling punter

You will be surprised to know that Castlebridge was shown 527 kg(present)and 529 kg(previous). So last time it won with 529 kg. wt.Must be an all time record.I have never heard any horse winning with this wt.Only Indian_Turf_Record can
confirm it.

Thank you for reply.

I suppose you mean GORGEOUS LADY. When she won on 16 Jul, her body weight was 460 kgs. That was more by 19 kgs. -- not 27 kgs. as mentioned by you -- than her weight on previous start on 2 Mar where she was last. Earlier, she had won on 21 Jan with a body weight of 449 kgs. and before that on 3 Jan with a body weight of 443 kgs. (Details taken from HRC site). Yes, she was overweight by 11 kgs. to her winning weight and still won. I take it as positive sign and she ought to win again when she has shed some kilos if favourably handicapped.

QUEENS BEST was however about 40 kgs. heavier and still ran a good race. Same comment applies to her.

My limited point was that there are many important facts that we are not aware of when prediction is made. I always say in racing anything is possible. But I am sure that all of us will think twice about backing a horse that is much over weight.

G.G any handicapper would have chosen the same but the horse was doomed when it became the fav.
I fail to understand this owner how long will he keep tolerating this Father son trio.the father has only one win in BNG never happened before.

ITR in HYD G. lady won with A over wt. of 27 kilos!

This posting is not meant to criticise you in any way. Only to highlight that we do not have all information when we talk of any race.

Your selection of Queens Best was based on calculations and was given with good intentions. I am sure your calculations were based on performances of QB in Mumbai. That was three months ago. Are those calculations valid after three months when horses concerned have not raced ?

When QB last ran in Mumbai its weight was 411 kgs. Yesterday in Pune its weight was 452 kgs. Increase of 10 %. You would not have known of this when you made your selection and I feel if you had known of it your calculations would have changed.

My point is that there are many things which affect performance of horse in racing and we do not know many of them. We blame jockey when real reason is something else.

GG

As usual Imran on QB lost a well deserved Race, whereas Neeraj on Sassy excelled with his powerful riding and winning almost from the rear in a 6 furlong Race.

Azim - Jockey does matter in winning a Race.
