Enigmatic Improvement

By Blockbuster | 23-Jul-2018
Desert God, an over the hill horse returns to India after an ambitious tour abroad that culminates as a massive flop. Unlike many Indian horses that acquired themselves honourably and earned respect abroad, Desert God’s abysmal pe Forman e belies it’s huge reputation.
Padmanabhan has sent two ‘champions’ abroad earlier - Becket and another one to the US. They too flopped with very bad performances like Desert God.
But now Desert God comes back and starts beating younger horses in India again. Clearly, something that works for this trainer in India does not work abroad. We all know what this is!

Dear Admin:
I request you to publish this post and not discard or modify it. Also, I would request you not to club it with another thread because while it may be about Desert God, the focus of this topic is different. Hope you oblige.

Desert God is really the champion in India like In the Spot light. Both went abroad and had their image tarnished. One went to the stud and DG came to Bangalore with some aim. Its style of running is to hit the front or sit in the box seat behind the pace maker and win. Usually in St.Leger or Stayers cup the field will be small. So Paddy must have planned for this and had lung opener in Salazar's race. But putting Trevor up had the punters behind it. It was the first run after returning and so you cant blame the connections. BUT,WHY NEERAJ NOW AND WHY ROMANTIC STAR WAS ENTERED AND TREVOR WAS ASSIGNED TO THIS HORSE. Clearly indicates the intentions of the connections to fool the public. In
present day racing manipulations cannot be ruled out. Timing factor cannot be taken to rule out the same as horses in that class are capable of doing the same.
Sea Quest broke the record of Class I. Do mean to say that it will win class one. Horses which have won in record time have lost to far inferior horses in the next outing.

Godzy,

You said "Undoubtedly the quality of horses Racing in India are substandard. We are no match with Arabian, US and Australian horses. Conditions in India are also not conducive to Racing"

Agree with you that quality of horses racing in India is substandard, and they are no match for US and Australian horses. But, how naive of you to compare "Arabian" horses with thoroughbreds (who are substantially faster than Arabians)!

We all know the Blockbuster is the one who parted the seas.
Such people only want to denigrate their superiors and Desert God et al are by far superior.
Bad First run after such a long time doesn't tell if form lost or race required second run does and The horse has answered.

A very good topic...but what about punters who were taken for a ride in DG's Last run...people say he was not on try that day so why they made him run the race fooling innocent punters? Will their b any enqury in his running and riding?

We have to be satisfied with what we have.

I dont know what works for Padmanabhan ? Having made the statement, can you elaborate as it seems you have know of things ?

@ Blockbuster,

What actually you desire to convey.

Desert God finished dead last in Salazar race. Salazar finished 4th in five horse field in Desert God race.

The authorities hoisted white cone. Are you charging that Desert God won because of manipulations!

Well. I ignored Salazar last time. Played Prevalent force * Kangra forecast. I ignored Desert God this time. Played Salazar * Sana forecast.

One thing that I see after such bad results [bad results for me], is the timing. They said Salazar won in record time. Desert God clocked 2.58.65 against Salute her's record 2.58.O5. In fact Salute her's record was during 1997. 21 years record still not improved. So, according to me, there was no sinister under performance by any horse.

I am not defending any one here. The wins of Salazar & Desert God are quite based on merit and not because of co operation from anybody. Of course, we have to wait till urine samples are analysed and lab report comes in.

But, my congratulations to those who backed Desert God.
