The authentic information about jockeys weights are given in official books published by various race clubs on every of every race day. It is a non priced publication hence they publish limited number of copies for distribution among racing officials, trainers and media persons. Apart from this at the time of horses parading in paddock the race clubs announce the actual weight carried by the horse including jockeys weight. We have to pay attention to these announcements to know the allowance and overweight carried by the jockey, by continuously listening these announcements we will come to know the weights of jockeys. As stated in HT a complaint to Bol race book publication can also be lodged for not publishing actual weight of jockeys and for misguiding and misleading race lovers/ goers by publishing in_correct information.

BOL book was giving wrong info for a long time

Weight of Arshad Alam varies around 47kg and definately not 55kg as shown in
the book.

Other publication do show it as 46kg

The best remedy in such a case is the official website which gives correct info

This is a big problem ,we race goers are confused because of this .printing in racebooks very wrong every time.They should be advised accordingly by he authorities of all race clubs .we have to keep watching the announcement of overweight from the clubs which is a big nuicense.

will some one advice the authorities to declare the weights of jockeys in the beginning of the races.

What are you going to do with Jockeys weight ? The ultimate handicap prescribed matters finally. In case of overweight more than the handicap, its announced by the Authorities. Write something useful.

JWC: The weight given below jockey's name is actual weight of the jockey. Today BTB is ridden by Arshad Alam, so his weight is given as 47. In previous run the horse was ridden by Santosh Kumar and his weight was given as you are quoting 55 kg. Actually SK weight is 54 and the same is given below his name in his other rides today. Normally 1 or 2 kg. weight difference/ variation in Jockey weight will be there. You have taken the actual weight of jockeys but not noted that many horses are ridden by different different Jockeys each time and each jockeys actual weight is different from another jockey. So. pl. note which jockey is riding today and which jockey ridden previously.

U r 100% right.BOL book is showing jockey Arshad Alan weight 55 is may be from lastone season.i remembered when Arshad Alan took a little gap from racing and when he came back suddenly in BOL book weight showing 55.previously he was 47kg. I thought becoz of gap may be is weight increased.but jockey's are professional zervan after injuries came back took bed rest and all still his weight is same like before .when Trevor was injured his weight was 50kg but when he came back his weight increased by 3kg which is acceptable. Currently he is around 52.
I m ?? percent sure and having a proof that BOL book showing wrong information about Arshad Alam weight.i was about to write on this topic but I forgot to write.when I saw is weight I took another book which is called ORIGINAL VEL which cost 10rs easily available in Pune Mumbai and Delhi centres don't know about other centres it shows his weight is 46.so BOL was publishing wrong information from almost 6 months.is weight is around 46-47onlyas always.
