@raghavan

Tote is worst than bookie. Bookies lose some day, but tote never loses.

U are vocal about 10%tax. What about btc cheating on deduction of gst but not depositing??

I was expecting that the strike will continue at least till month end.

Just two days strike! Seems DRC has persuaded them to come to negotiating table. Well. I was expecting some fireworks. It turned out to be damp squib.

Good news? pending settlement of issues between DRC and bookmakers, the business shall be carried on as usual from 25.7.18 onwards till a final decision is arrived at on 27th of this month. Hope both the parties at loggerheads shall amicably settle the issues, which shall be in the interest of one and all.

Raghavan you have zero idea of Delhi it is surviving purely on line operators who will not pay more than 10% tax.the bookies compensate by giving a fixed income to sales tax per race.

Come and see the fun, the ring is full of illegal bookies with NO TAX taking bets when there are no bookies.

So small punters are happy with this. In no way tote betting will ever increase in del because It s linked to MUM where deduction are very high.

It is simple game of who chickens out first.the club is losing stall fee and more important ,Mobile charges which are rs 6100 per day[roughly 40to 50]

@ Prem,

Bookies on strike? A good news as far as punters concerned. Let us hope neither side is in haste to arrive at settlement.

Punters are put to inconvenience. O K. But if bookies agree to higher stall fees, then the bookies may expect punters to reimburse that amount. They may increase the 'half-tax' to 15% as against existing 1O%. How many punters are agreeing to this side effect.

Let the punters come to race course. And go back with their cash balance in tact. If they can not control their itch, let them bet at tote.

I do not see any reason why the people should be so much concerned. The bookies strike should be the most welcome development. Let that continue as long as possible.

DRC management may not be good. But, this is not the time to condemn them or make fun or make hypercritical comment of their inner politics. The bookies are on strike. Let us not take sides either with bookies or with drc management.

History tells that in such situations the ultimate choice ends with a amicable solution. On behalf of pinter community I urge both the parties to resolve the matter amicable forthwith and avert loss of reputation and revenue by both the parties

DRC is run like a Zamindari system.
The 5 breeders whose horses dominate 90 % of runners in Delhi are only interested in Delhi racing and between them selves divide the spoils of it They only back their own horses and are unable to bet in any other center
a Hence not interested in off course betting.

The on going secy was seen touching Old man bedis feet in Jan last year that is how is still there with little knowledge of racing

Seating arrangements are bad and meeting thee chamcha secy has had no effect,as he has no clue for anything.

Mis management and no accountability is the norm in all our race clubs be it Madras MUM and BNG

Nothing will change as these Czars of racing are not willing to give up

BOOKMAKERS STRIKE AT DRC.
Bookmakers at Delhi Race Club are on strike from 23.7.2018 due to the harassment from Mr J S Bedi for his illegal demands of increasing stall
fees abnormally. Even the entry of their staff is banned. The massive hike being demanded is not justified.

He is a disgrace to the post of President. He wants the club to pay for his travel and accommodation in five star but is denied to other stewards
and committee members. Even a wreath for a dead person is paid by the Club. It is learnt that Even his reputation in Chelmsford Club haslost so
badly that the members want him out in the coming elections and has no face to face them off.

The question that arise is what Mr. P.S. Bedi, his son who is the current head, Mr. Sultan Singh and their coterie think of themselves. The land
of DRC does not belong to them. The assets of DRC does not belong to them. The club is run as per Delhi race club act 1941. DRC is controlled by
RWITC. The autocratic attitude has to go. The bookies are not hapless guys who can be forced to bow to the terms set by Mr. Bedi's son. He may be
the elected president but he must know he is not some king owning the club. If Mr. Bedi and his coterie does not mend their ways, DRC is bound to
suffer.
