RED JADE (b f 1976 Red Indian - Gold Gem) raced 23 times over three years. She was ridden by jockey J. Smith only twice and won both those races:-

Hyd 30 Sep 1979 Won (J Smith) (6/4 favourite) by 6 lengths

Hyd 14 Oct 1979 Won (J Smith) (2/1 second favourite) by 1 1/2 lengths

Records don't mention anything about J. Smith being suspended but he rode regularly during Bangalore winter season 1979-80.

I think I witnessed the betting by Late MAM RAM at Shah and Salim bookie on Red

Jade Jockey J.Smith and the reason he suspended because of MAM RAM eat the

at 1/2 or 55/100 odds at Shah and Salim bookie on that time MR Shah used to sit

bookie and Mr Shah is the father of Mahender Shah Bookie at Hyderabad. When if

real bet by late RAMu in Shah & Salim bookie they entered MAM RAM and if

late Ramu eat the horse like RED JADE the Shah & Salim bookie entered RAM MAM .

And bookie sheet goes to race club official and they can see, What really

happened on that race. That's the reason behind suspension of J. Smith jockey.

Even MR Shah don't want to give him to much amount to eat, Mr Ramu love and

said 2 pahthi and walk away and still Mr shah was for only 1 pahthi and odds on

time with mostly bookies have 45/100 to 48/100 and after with Ramu's eating

within seconds Mr Shah send Mr Afsar brother of Mr Salim Bhai to other bookies

to eat the horse for RAMU and I used watch bookie's book sheet like balance

sheet always of MAM RAM or RAM MAM and bet vice versa .

Anyway it's all game of gambling by owner's

4 Jun - Won Tippu Sultan Cup (4/10 fav). Jockey J. Smith

25 Jun - Colts' Trial Stakes. 1. ROYAL TERN (6/4) beat Own Opinion (J. Smith) (13/10 fav) by 6 lengths.

16 Jul - Bangalore Derby. ROYAL TERN (7/10 fav) beat Own Opinion (J. Smith) (10/1) by 2 lengths. Red Chieftan (Jagdish) (6/1) was second favourite.

Those runs do not suggest anything drastically wrong. J. Smith rode during the rest of that Bangalore season and also at Mysore. In fact, he won Mysore Derby on Red Chieftan for 'MAM'. As mentioned earlier also, J. Smith rode throughout Chennai winter season of 1978-79.

Own Opinion raced five times at Hyderabad (twice Nizam's Cup, thrice President of India Gold Cup). He was ridden by Jagdish in all five starts.

The story of Own opinion may be partially true as the jockey was suspended at .30/100 odds


My uncle did know MAM in a casual manner [MAM never gave him any tip[ vowed after this never to back his horses at these odds. Kindly check who rode Own opinion in HYD. I do not know the race type as my UNCLE is no more

After perusing old records, I find that Own Opinion was never ridden by jockey J. Smith in any of his races at Hyderabad.

J. Smith did ride Own Opinion when he finished second to Royal Tern in the Bangalore Colts' Trial Stakes and Bangalore Summer Derby. It is unlikely that he was suspended because he rode in the Mysore season which followed and also at Chennai in the following year.

The French jockey mentioned by you was David Badel. Yes, it did cause friction between the French authorities and HRC. The French did not reciprocate HRC's action because Badel was denied legal representation at the hearing of his case as is permissable in France.

LVR deshmukh was lucky when he had good horses like tintinnabulation machiavellianism but now he has all donkeys and top of that he is a very mediocre trainer.if you want to bet in hyderabad play d netto and laxman singh horses,if you want to lose everything you have go ahead and play ld silva and prasad raju horses

GODZILLA My uncle told me that One british jockey smith was suspended for life by the same HYD race club for pulling Own opinion. It was honoured by JOCKEYS CLUB OF UK.

A french jockey was also suspended by HYD for few years and that became a sore point between the two countries Since it is hearsay I would like ITR to please confirm or amend the 2 cases

R.J.Hannam Jockey from kIWI(New Zealand) bottom weighted Jockey, Very Short Height.Recently he finished 1000 wins. He has been retained to L.V.R Deshmukh for next 2 seasons.



The reason Trainer L.V.R DESHMUKH hire Jockey R.J.Hannam to pulling the favorite horses or not bet by the owner's. And Hannam mostly won the races with good odds, when punter's don't bet the Hannam horse.

Hannam was suspended few times in New Zealand and Australia , Before May 2017 he was suspended for long time for pulling the horse. Even his suspensions time Deshmukh hire him. May be he suspended there and allowed to ride in India. Deshmukh take advantage of suspended jockey. This is part of the game to pull horses.

You expect our so called and name sake Stewards to suspend any jockey for life time for taking horses out of board intentionally ? They have no guts and power as the Racing in India is governed by unscrupulous elements most of the time.
Take care of your life and dont get entangled.

If you want to gamble, gamble. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut. The Stewards are not obliged to listen to an innocent person like you.
