The Echoes Of Light Handicap

By S C Sharma | 31-Jul-2018
For this above six furlong race two main contendors are Advika and Bergamot.Both are odds on failed favourites in last run. The former's jockey reported shifting of saddle last time and hence he was not able to ride. The latter's jockey reported interference and horse also broken blood vessel. The fight between these two is interesting so also between trainers who are brothers. I give preference to the former. The other two races are nicely analysed by Golden girl and I appreciate and admire. Be lated thanks to TONY for his compliments on my Bangaluru single choice selections.Good day and best of luck to all.

Small time poor punter: I am not against anybody's comments but when you say bookies have read my comments and lot of many gone into drain,when my picks passed what would have happened to the bookies can you imagine? Bookmakers not work as per my or your comments. Further realise the importance of study and analysis. Once failure can not derail you from the right path. You have right to differ but don't exograt the things to insult anyone.Equally respect the others instead of teaching lessons. You are also not a God, after all human being and learn from failures.

Sharmaji,

If I have hurt you in any manner, I am sorry. But I never meant that. I too agree on a majority of occasions when two horses are strongly fancied, one of them goes on to win. (Mr Godzilla: I totally disagree with your preaching that whenever two horses are priced like this, mostly they don't win. That's a wrong notion and misguiding the present-day punters too!).

I have played in such situations where Aslam Khader and Pesi Shroff ridden mounts used to often be priced like this, particularly in a Classic. And as Mr Sharma has said almost in 90% of the cases, one of them had emerged the winner.

However, yesterday's race in Kolkata was no Classic. And that allows the bookies to run amok. And they expectedly did that. This was what I tried to convey through my rejoinder. Hope I have clarified my stand. Thank you

SSPP your info is totally wrong. None of the bookies I know read any mail here simpler no time

Accounts settled every day most reach home by 9to 10 pm.Getting up late they have so many odd jobs just manage to each the RC in time

they work on the COLOUR of the horse going bad or good. SC no amount of handicapping can work here read my write up on fixed races for big jockeys

Small Still Poor Punter: where were you when we wrote number of such write ups about race between two horses and ninety percent of them proved correct. Today it failed so you got a good chance. Still I take it in good spirit. I am not advocating for bookies or for punters I just placed the fact before all of you and given my preference. Number of times it clicks, some times it fails also that's why we call only certainty in racing is uncertainty.It also does not mean that we should not analyse or stop analysing.Nobody's success rate is 100 percent but we try to analyse in best possible way and learn lessons from the failures also.Thanks for your opinion.I welcome you.

This type of odds 9/10 for first favourite and 2 1/2 for the second favourite, means big EATING by bookies. If a punter plays both the horses, if the second favourite wins, he still gets 17/10 price. Hence these odds are bogus.

If the horses are on job, the first favourite should be 9/10 and the next favourite should be 14/10 to 16/10 so that the punters would not be able to make much money backing both horses after paying taxes.

New comers to note.

Sharmaji,

I am really sorry to see rank outsider 'Prancing Queen" (12/1) winning the race even as hot favourite 'Advika' (9/10) and second-in-line 'Bergamot' (5/2) looked like taking things very easily.

This is what I say. You just can't do your home work based on bloodline or previous runs and come to play a horse. I can imagine how much money would have gone under the drain in all race courses today on this particular race.

Those bookies who read your post in the morning would have felt more comfortable to hoodwink the hapless punters, most of whom would have not preferred to look beyond the first two fancied horses.

Still, your writing was quite clear and came to compare the previous runs of 'Advika' and "bergamot' very nicely. I enjoyed going through it, although I too was wondering if either of them will emerge the ultimate winner.

I agree.However, the trainers are brothers and thus,,,,!

Three Good Bets :

Race # 2. Tantannat (7);
Race # 5. Coup De Grace (12);
Race # 6. Alldero (7).

A possible Jocket Dashrath back to back double.

Good Luck
