Pune Derby Field Sickening

By Godzilla | 11-Oct-2018

Only 7 horses are participating in a prestigeous event like DERBY. Out of 7, two [Cavarozzi and Bushtops] belong to VBS/KND combo. That leaves 5, out of five one average horse Truly Epic is participating.

The remaining four are Desperado and Knotty Ash from Bangalore and local horses Excellent and Pioneer. In other words, RWITC or Pune is represented only by two horses plus two average horses.

Very sorry state of affairs. In the past and all the while, Derby field used to attract 10 to 14 competitive runners evincing lot of interest.

Now in the Derby field at Pune, there is no betting for 3rd place. Still some guys in HT will not see eye to eye with my revealitions and call me chaotic Chennai/Madras Moron. They just blindly support the system operating in Pune and behave befitting one sheep following the other, without applying mind.

What action you want to take against me by RWITC by writing about RWITC runners and other Centres. Even Chennai, I have pointed out in detail, the situation prevailing.

I am not a school student to be canned by a Headmaster !

@Godzillla

It's good to see you accepting the universal truth that in India most races are framed for shorter distances, hence owners want horses who will do well over such distances, hence breeders breed such horses. So, please now stop trashing Excellent Art and Poonawalas.

Further, there is little point in heaping derogatory adjectives upon one particular racecourse when racing standards have declined in almost all racecourses in India.

BTW bigger fields do not necessarily mean fairer racing or profitable racing. Hyderabad is a case in point.

I am not after any Centre.  The crux of the problem is the connections have not made arrangement to get or acquire long distance horses. The remaining big owners are satisfied with 6 or 7 furlong progney. Gone are the days of MAM Khaitan and Vijaya Mallaya, who used to plan for long distance horses.

We have long distance stayers like Sir Cecil, Desperado and the so called stayer Star Superior. Other than these three, there is nothing to be proud of the set of the horses running in India.

If these three horses participate in different locations, no one wants to get embarassed with their good for nothing horsses by entering into the fray against them.

Hope it enters your mind.

Hunter:.    RWITC taking action against those who use the whip repeatedly and excessively but not taking any action against those who are levelling false and baseless allegations against the club may be do not want to interfere in the fundamental right of speech and expression and taking it lightly or ignoring it.   Otherwise the write up "Pathetic Pune" which   contains totally false allegations,  deserves stricter action by RWITC.

Dear Hunter

Your reply to our good mate Godzilla is very pathectic. First of all Chennai does not claim itself to be a premier racing centre any longer and that is a known fact but that absolve Pune which is according to you is premier one. The issue here is not who is the best but about the acceptors for the premium Pune Derby. There is no horse worth its name to be called as the champion of future. The punters look for excitement and good competition in a classic race. So instead of talking like a politician accept the reality and if you associated with RWITC please let them know. For a hardcore punter it does not matter whether it is a derby or Class five race as long he is winning. You must have seen the quality of racing in Pune this season to judge for yourself whether it is a premier centre or not. My humble request is let us invest time to find the winner and nothing else. Please ltake this in the right spirit and in no way meant to hurt anyone. Last but not the least corrution is always there in some form or the other in all centres. Have a good derby weekend

There is no entrance fee in Ooty and Chennai race courses. It is probably some mafia collecting money at the gate....

If SC runs then there is no fun in Mysore derby which will make Pune derby the most competitive derby this season, with 6 of the seven having a realistic chance...

Btw dinosaurs have become extinct long ago....so will our little monster...

When the horses lined up does not merit the aura of derby, the best thing for we punters to do is to treat that as a Class III or Class II race.  Whether to bet or not to bet depending on the affordability.

Hyderabad had 4 runners;  as per rules Trinella not permissible at HYD tote.  Kolkata had only 7 runners.  So, the smaller fields is the order of the day.

So, Godzilla, do not worry about the small field.  Horse owners no longer give acceptance according to punter's preference.   Bet a horse if you are confident about and odds wise your horse is a worthwhile bet.  Else, watch the cctv.  Matter over.

It's a easy easiest race to crack, Bushtops will catch Desperado on post.

Pathetic, sickening, sad, hopeless, lowest ebb..

These are some of the phrases used by senior member Godzilla about RWITC and Pune racing.

Hope office bearers of RWITC will wake up and give him a fitting reply. After all, RWITC prides itself as being India's premier racing centre.

And I do wish the senior member will share something about the absymal racing standards and the poor hygiene conditions prevailing at his home centre.

BTW whenever I visited Guindy racecourse, they took my entrance fee (at the time Rs 100, perhaps the highest in the land) and never even once issued a ticket . How much corruption??!!
