As always the boy will ride for a while then get no rides or kicked out just like all the previous jockeys who have ridden for him foreign or local inc sandy. Sad that a jockey trainer cant trust a jockey. Shame.

@ Starone ,

Rightly said . Fail to understand some bloggers' logic and their innate capacity to be critical about everything.

Leigh Roche is an Irish based jockey. His record to date (2018 season) is 27 wins from 371 rides (Ireland and UK combined). A strike rate of just over 7%.

Gentlemen - Mr.S C Sharma is doing a wonderful job of updating the information relating to horse racing from time to time besides giving his valuable selections, so one must appreciate his efforts rather than giving divergent views.  If one is positive minded so others too should contribute towards the said information - like details of the Jockey which can be added to info. Healthy  Criticism  should be at appropriate time.  Please do some value addition rather than deletio.

Friends,

Pesi is the past master in Jockey ship related questions and why he has decided to engage a foreign Jockey should have no question marks as he is the best in his job and surely knows what is the best solution to his and his owners requirments for the coming winter Races in India. Wishing Pesi good luck and also good luck to all the trainers, especially those who take pride in their, this very intricate and challenging task of Horse Racing. Last but not the least, good luck for all the Horse Racing fraternity, please take this sport very seriously and diligently if you want to succeed.

Jockey is an important person in winning or losing. His contribution is 50% and the the rest 50% . Good horses require good jockeys and Visa versa. I can give several examples  I will give 2. Brilliant Cut lost the Derby and Kangra lost the Guineas because of the jockey and the winning jockey showed better skills. In both the winning jockey and the losing jockey were the one and the same. Wisely they chose a better jockey and Pioneer won the Derby and if they had given to the retained rider it would have lost. Yes there are some jockeys who learn their skills very early and they are few. I remember in 70s in Bangalore when trainers engaged the likes of C.Roche and Swinburns, a big trainer used his own stable jockey (think he was an allowance jockey) in the Guineas and the jockey rode such a race  matching Roche and Roche won the race by short head.  If the jockeys have such matching skills then it is okay otherwise you end up losing . All over the world the big owners/ trainers engage  big jockeys paying huge retainership. If the jockey's contribution is 15%  and their role is little the owners are not out of their minds to throw their money.

Jockeyship does not play a major role on the final result. Yes , we can give   15 %  chance for Jockeys. Rest 85%  goes to the different other factors. Like distance, handicap, preparation , draw number and number of horses running in the bunch.

On 3rd , first day of Banglore meeting. The Rajyotsava cup. Having top horse and top jockeys riding , Accolade- zervan, B. Jones- srinath, Siobhan- Sandesh,  the race is taken away by Iris - Anjar alam.

In the very next race Kabini cup. Mongolian king the favourite almost travelled all over india and performed well. Second favourite St. Paul's girl- neeraj rawal. But race won by TURF STAR which ran after a period of 10 months. Last ran on 2.2.18. M.king ended third and s.paul girl ended last.

Further update on this subject is he is Irish jockey, 26 year old, mostly riding in and around UK.  Whenever I get such informations  I pass it on HT to keep all our readers updated. May be this information also available on twitter or other social media forums but I use to share with all of you and it's my duty to thank that person who first passed it to me.  I think many of us not in touch with Twitter. Atleast I am not using face book and Twitter. I request all of you also to share such updates which may be useful for all of us and also enrich our knowledge.

On Indian soil, Trevor is the best Jockey. No one can compete with him.

Next are Sandesh and Akshay Kumar. In that order.

This was expected after Trevor riding for Manjiri owners and his suspension till Jan19. Further Sandesh has not been riding for him for the last couple of meetings,it appears his retainership  with Shirkes/KND has ended.Though the trainer may wish to continue with Zervan, with number of horses he has and poor riding skills of Zervan under tight situation may have promted to go for a foreign rider.
