Golden Hind

By Sentinel | 09-Dec-2018

I wonder if the Stewards are going to look into the running of this horse's previous race where it was ridden into the ground?

It was a far worse case of riding by Roche than Jodha's on Raees in Pune.

In the interests of fair racing (if this still exists, doubtfully), I wait with bated breath for an answer from those who are supposed to conduct fair racing in Mumbai.

@ Sentinel...There's always need of a reason to be shown in case of failures....May be bv broken  or a bad start from gates( do u know jockeys voluntarily drop them off at starting gates...as advised by owners/ trainers) ..becos Isn't she lovely must still be a people's fav at Bangalore or next classics.....Has anyone shown any of us if the horse is really bleeding? They just report....we just believe......we need to follow the proceedings n drama....and understand the other face of racing....anything is possible here...

@ Hunter... everything is done here for a return gift here......do u think prasanna kumar expected his Tic tac Ipsy to place in GR1 race and bring him fortune...and so paid so much as entry fee?

Regards

Short introduction: Been into racing for over two decades now (, started as an apprentice gambler at the age of 17 ,never fancied or gambled on favs, never exceeded a budget of max 5k per race, have tried handicapping, understanding the betting trend, intermediate  connection between few owners and trainers , tips from insiders, even numerology and vaastu, but still ended up burning my hard earned monies...

Racing has always been a mystery for me or rather a puzzle.

I guess , what we (Punters) have to understand is that there are only three sets of people who rule this industry - a)Trainer B) the bookie c) the owners everything revolves around them....poor jockey's are mere spectators (most of the time) - it's all about, how the above three folks manipulate and try to confuse  Punters day after day ...the trend is never the same...keeps changing every race day. They never allow anyone to conclude on their tactics - keeps changing :) please read my posts carefully and read between the lines as much posiible.

Since the HOT topic is on the recently concluded 1000 guinees Mumbai race day. I will start with my first of the "stories"

Story 1 ) walk into the course, thinking that the race will be a three way finish between Cupid, dragaonmoss and romantic eyes...angel coin as an outsider (longer odds) - odds to be onithe range of even to 15/10 for Cupido and 3/1(70 for place) and 5/1 (even for place) for the the other two. But then, what I saw when I stepped in, was completely in contradiction.

Cupido - hot fav - odds on.

Dragaonmoss - was offered at 16/10 for place later reduced to 12/10

Romantic eyes - opened at 14/10 place increased to 2/1 for place.

The horse which was getting gambled was Cristo Boss with the odds tumbling down for both win and place.

While i had read the Card rightly , and expected trevor aad Rodney  to be on board, I started doubting my own abilities looking at the odds offered for place  and was confused for a moment...the thought process process was quite simple ....when you know these horses are gonna hit the board why offer such lucrative odds for place...I just glanced around the bookie stalls and everyone were helter skeltor to play Cristo BOSS which was the rage....apart from the Fav .

Smelled something fishy, since never fancied Cristo BOSS even for place ( knowing the connections/their trend. and here the horse was getting gambled for WIN.

Race time: I panicked . Though, was certain that romatic eyes or dragaonmoss would place for sure and that i would start my day with 5k place on either of these horses, I got relectunt simply looking at the mouth watering odds

Thoughts changed, started assuming, but the good thing is I started looking for potential horse which can finish on board Purely basis the odds ( mind it ONLY ODDS) - looked at the place odds (old habbit) for the remaining horses, angel coin was offered at 6to one for place while sweeping Move stood out as all the small book makers had placed it at 3 to one for place and the big ones at 4 to one. Had just fee secs to place my bet and i jumped into play it at 4/1 for place 2k ....the only thought was why just 3 to one when we have couple of sure shot horses offered at 2 to one ...well what happened after that was again  a MYSTERY which got unfolded only after the race.

Will drill into the details tomorrow .....

@Rksh, are you saying that Isn't She Lovely and Merlot were ''stopped" by the connections? In a classic like 1000G?

On checking back the race day report for Golden Hind's previous race prior to yesterday's win it states as follows An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of Jockey Leigh Roche on GOLDEN HIND and Jockey Akshay Gaikwad on ANGELS HARMONY and a report will be submitted shortly" ... unfortunately the result of this enquiry, although initiated 3 weeks ago, has yet to be published (to my knowledge).

It is difficult to understand why as both horses were unneccesarily ridden into the ground 10 lengths clear of the field entering the straight and then faded badly.

@Rksh ... re: Isn't She Lovely, it has been reported that the filly broke a blood vessel which accounts for her below par performance in the 1000 Guineas.

My dear punters interested in this discussion

I've told many times and keep telling still.....Horse racing is not just about Handicapping/Trackwork/swimming record/weight change.....etc....It must include Logic my dears

After the same owners winning the Dashmesh Stud Gr3 the earlier race day by Cambridge and Sandesh, How on earth can u think They (being not So Big owners as listed by u) even find a spot in top 3 in the bigger Gr1  the very next day...u need some logic...minimum IQ to help urself here....Merlot must be ruled out in any case..

..Y do u think David Allan couldn't come even 2nd on Isn't she lovely? Dint he win on Ruffina the earlier race?  Remember guys ....BIG RACES ARE DIVIDED among Bigger owners..

Coming to Its a deal and Cupido,  u can never expect anything in a class 5 race whatever May be...Class 5 is for hidden calibred flukes..u know that...It's a deal always ran in class 4 and now downscaled...we can't guess it's calibre among class 5 horses...

Because I lost on Choomantar in the earlier race,I had to back on Its a deal in the last race which brought me good fortune ....waiting for Chq payment which is always late at Hrc..

Regards.

How about Trevor whose favorites are mostly out of board and as a matter of fact unless I am fully conviced I do not touch his favorites

@EquineLover, when you talk of Cupido/ It's A Deal, you are talking of Faisal Abbas. But he has always been like this only - losing on hot favourites to oblige his backers. And he seems to have some strong backers, whom RWITC officials apparently can't touch. Unlike BTC, who has shown more guts by banning trainer G Sandhu earlier for 3 years and now for one year.

My heart goes out to owners of fantastically-bred Merlot. I hope they have the good sense to take this filly from Faisal Abbas and give to a better trainer who can win some classics for them.

The last run was Golden Hinds' first run after being gelded. Kindly keep such things in mind.

Hope my view will be posted...................

I have said this many times earlier, Not only in RWITC all the other centre also.

Ethicacy of racing, standard of racing has fallen far below in all the centre, No wonder sooner or later, there will be curtains down on Indian racing.

it hand ful of peopel who are driving and enjoying the fruits of racing, and many of them are falling prey to this nexus of big and mighty.

Example, yeter day Cupido which was at cramped odds fails to fill the frame of 1 out of 3. same trainer wins big owner horse at 35 to 1, there was no perfromance of this animal before for it to be considered by any punter. who is there to ask these wrong doings, same cupido second time in a row is pulled as first fancied horse in sucsession.

Even kid can tell, who is having free go at RWITC, big 4 owners whoose most animal are with a trainer who is considered as most brainy guy in terms of training of Horses.

All the functioning is governed by these guys, so where can any one expect ethicacy.

Now only RWITC is bleeding, sooner it will be closed, the way they are going.

God save the sports and people who are making earning out of this industry.
