A lot is being said about Sir Cecil having beaten not-so-great horses. Now, how is that his fault? Like Sunil Gavaskar said after India's victory over (a depleted) Australia in the 1st test: India beat the side that was presented to them. The same applies to SC. If he scares away opposition, then he has to run and beat the horses who run against him in the race. If you look dispassionately at the field for 2000G, barring SC and Star Superior, the other horses are mediocre. Both SC and SS would improved since they last met. Let's look forward to their contest being renewed on the Mahalakshmi track..

2000g for star superior

As I said many times in this forum Sir Cecil is better horse than any other in his age group.but still when it come to Mumbai it's straight course.sevondly StarSuperior ran close to him in 1600mtr race. Considering these two facts SC and SS may fight it out and on the day luck prevails on whom is big question mark.pl.dont go beyond these two.owners,Trainers,jockeys of these two stable prepated very hard to lift this 2nd classic of this season.I would prefer SS eventhough I am SC follower.

This is just a speculation not that I think Sir Cecil can be defeated in the 2000 G. 

But what if David Allen falters and miss judges the race, like all those great horses before lost to unknowns or horses they have beaten earlier, what if a dark un swoops up the ground toppling the Applecart, not to say that it has never happened before. I jfor one would be very disappointed to see such a good Horse falter soo early on in its career, and if I'm to back a horse that would go against the great Sir Cecil, I would go with Corfe Castle, just for the odds..eventho even Star Superior may seem a better bet. What would you choose, how would you feel winning on the longer odds and seeing gthe Great Horse's loses? Take a crack at it without supporting SC in this race just for the sake of conversation.

Corfe Castle has been scratched from 2000G. The balance eight horses have accepted to run.

Sir cecil will not be beaten in 2000g bcoz it has already beaten SS twice and i am definetly confident that SS is not the same that challenged sir cecil in bangalore bcoz the training matters here u cant expect rajesh narredu or a ld silva to train these kind of horses. Trainers matter in these kind of classic animals. We can see what happened to corfe castle. Rajesh narredu is better than ld silva but still he is mediocre. 

"Excellent" over the mile will make the race to the wire interesting!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are u people talking about indian derby so early? in guineas there is no chance of sir cecil loosing people who are  so confident that there are horses which can defeat in guineas than say directly that sir cecil will loose .

The fat will be beaten in Indian Derby....2400 mtrs by........[will tell the horse name in a month or so]

Just wait and watch how the grey wins the Guineas.

Depends on his mood whether he wants to trounce them or not.

He may just have time for a short nap & still win.

My views obout sircecil it has won by record tym till now except star superior opposition was not there in mumbai we all have an idea about the good horses so it will be going a tough ask for sc better to lay it and earn no one can play sc on the odds around 50-70 paise happi racing

My take only one:  Mumbai Derby Winner : ARABIA trained by Pesi Shroff..... watch out for some more scintialting performance of this horse which beautifully bred...  Multidimentional by Adamile  should win St. Leger too....   I had predicted La Rondine to win 1000 g & Arabia to fight out.  In the dual.... if you watch last 200 meters La Rondine is all out & whipped emphatically by Roche  ,  however Akshay hardly was just moving with Arabia and didnot whip even once, but when he pulled his whip he dropped very near to winning post..... Arabia to my mind would be absolutely different & much improved horse ... horse of the season.... so would La Rondine also be... 

for 2000 Guineas: star superior win

And Indian derby will lift  SIR CECIL

Indian 2000 gunieas : Sir Cecil should romp home Victorious.star Superior should come close 2nd atleast two lengths behind... 

Indian oaks: La Rondine is not the only horse to look for. Arabia ran he’ll of race and we all know what is full sister has done.the other horse is Roberta one more strong contender for the oaks. Should wait till the race card is out not worth deciding right now.

indian derby: yes it’s again the beast sir Cecil so far I’ve not seen a 3 year old that can even touch his tail.

Sound knowledge of schedule and results. Has prospectus changed ,distance of Oaks which is ladies derby to 1600 metres

From the punter point of view the odds of these horses will be unbackable.  So why break your head on this.  Even if one isidefeated punters will stand to lose. Not to forget Human hands in such races will play an important role.  So better to have popcorn and watch all the fun.  

Please watch Padamnaban interview in U tube...He said he is in Mumbai from past 1 week...and he is said one of the best colt in India today after Becket...defiantly it will do his job winning next 3 classics...2000 G...Indian Derby and Indian invitation. However odds will be always less for this horse ..????

The card is still in the handicap stage, acceptance will let us know if Sir Cecil will run the race. I have my own doubts about SC participation,but if he participates he'll win it easily. If he doesn't then the race would be a tight race between The father and son duo. Star Superior versus Awesome One. I somehow feel Awesome One will beat Star Superior.
