On 21st. after the last race was over DCP(Zone 3), Abhinash Kumar and a team of 30 police men raided mahalaxmi race course official bookmakers numbering around 21 nos.
Cases of gambling and cheating has been registered against the bookmakers. Around 100 nos. bookmakers employees have been hauled up and police seized large amount of cash from the book makers stalls, mobile handsets, ledgers and account books were also seized.
Today in all probability no book maker will operate looking into the gravity of the situation.
Really a very sad state of affairs for racing afficiandoes and for rwitc as well, notwithstanding the genuine good book makers also.

Very sorry to inform all those who are in racing industry that today again Mumbai Bookies bail plea has been rejected and they've been sent on a jail custody instead of police custody and the next date of hearing is 28/12/18 at 3-00 pm.
I'm sure those who are managing the court matters on behalf of the bookies are quite naive or ignorant about how to proceed in bail matter and get best of legal redressal? Around 7 days police custody and then this jail custody is quite unheard of in bail matters, specially when seizures of cash and other computers/mobile et all is there in 420 matters??
Let's hope on 28/12/18 they are released from jail custody!!

Today Mumbai Bookies were produced in the court and their bail plea has been summarily rejected by the judge.
Tomorrow is the next date of hearing. Hopefully, they'll be granted bail tomorrow.

It's very sad for the bookmakers as their bail plea has been rejected at Girgum court and next date of hearing is on 26/12/18.
Also they've been shifted to Saat Rasta lock to prevent the royal treatment they were getting in Tardeo P.S., regarding the DCP Mr. Kumar everyone knows he is a non corrupt IPS and very thorough in his operation.

Today they'll be produced in court and hopefully, they should be granted bail. Throughout, this period they were kept in Saat Raasta lock up in a very dingy lock up in a very unhieginic condition infested with notorious n pervert criminals.

Yes there are some genuine bookmakers. But the reson of dubious transactions by biikmakers lies in unrealistic taxation policy of lawmakers who have imposed high tax on gambling. All these raids will not solve the problems of tax evasion. They can never...

'Genuine good bookmakers'? Hello, every bookmaker in the ring is openly flouting tax laws of the country. The 10% 'tax' collected by the bookmakers effectively evades GST and income tax. From this money then payoffs are made to club officials, GST officials, IT officials and the police. Either somebody forgot to make a payoff or some honest govt officials have surfaced - hence the raid.
