Bookies will start operating in pune from 1st jan

Further to what I said, now comes a breaking news that Mumbai races of 3 rd Jan cancelled due to admin. reasons. Things are not as simple as they look.

Yes, the bookmakers were sent back by club on Monday on Hyderabad race day. After the Mumbai raids on Friday, on Saturday & Sunday the bookmakers were operating on the same terms which led to Mumbai raids. The club was also under fire for conducting races in illegal manner.

Bookmakers are doing their business & no favour or courtesy to punters. Any club will first save it's image as races can be run without bookmakers as was in Bangalore/Mysore for last few years.

No doubt that races without bookmakers is no fun but it'll be only if club survives.

Can anyone throw light ...when do bookies start operating in mumbai

Wth 28% tax, punters can still play.  But the main question is, whether bookies will be able to part with this free income (half tax) and deposit the tax honestly.

I had a conversation with the bookmakers association of Pune Secretary, Mr. Latif Bhai yesterday.

As per clubs instructions only betting operation in Pune has been stopped and in  untill n unless they instruct the bookies, all betting operations has been suspended.

So it's the club, not the Pune bookies who are responsible, for this logjam!!

Suffered the same rather worst problem for over 6 months in bangalore where betting was  also restricted.I'ts was really a big headache betting only through totalizers .strength and peace of mind to punters in pune till the bookies return.

If bookies have to charge 28% plus their commison will any punter play with them.

What about Bangalore, mysore, and Hyderabad’s bookis? They are working or not? Please update as i dont have any contacts to find out whats going on there and i m planing to go there for betting from mumbai

Through some reliable sources came to know, there won't be bookies operation for another 15 days. 

As far as I understand I don't think this mess is gonna get cleaned soon. Even if the bookmakers get a bail it won't be as usual business for some time to come. Enthusiastic bookmakers may operate in pune and few may even bet but this all will be at 28%. So I don't think this storm is gonna settle early anyways

With the arrest and detention of Bookies in Mumbai, the matter is not going to be resolved in the near future. The strike has already spread to Pune and Bangalore/Mysore/Hyderabad/Calcutta/Chennai Centres may follow suit.

Concentrate on tote only.

Through some unreliable sources came to know that from Thursday onwards bookies are operating in pune.
