Sir Cecil - Mahendra Mallya

By Aravind | 05-Jan-2019

As correctly pointed out by Mahendra it's paddy responsibility to ensure Sir Cecil centpercent perfectly fit before entering to race track. It's sad to read news about slight setback if great horse SirCecil. Hope it get well and back to Mahalaxmi race course soon.

With such a news being out ,there will be good odds even if Sir Cecil participates in Indian Derby. Punters would be unable to decide whether to back SC or keep quiet.

He has a ligament strain which the trainer has clearly stated has been an issue since the Bangalore Colts. There is no issue with his tendon, why Mahendra Mallya has mentioned a tendon problem no one knows. The horse is fine and on the track in Bangalore.

So now the cat is amongst the pigeons. If Paddy feels Sir Cecil is not fit enough to take the strain of travelling to Mumbai and running in the Indian Derby, then the Derby becomes a wide open race. Paddy and experts brought in by him will decide whether SC's tendon needs more time to heal or to take the plunge in the cash-rich and prestigious Indian Derby.

Assuming SC does not participate, which are the horses who will come into contention for the Derby? There is the tough fighter Star Supreme. Then there's the beautifully bred La Rondine. Then there is the Calcutta champ Adjudicate who would make the journey to Mumbai in a flash if the connections smell an opportunity. Who else? Is it going to be Multidimensional's year?
