The Invader

By Ian Deane | 26-Jan-2019

Many congratulations to the connections of The Invader, including the Badal Stud for whom I purchased his sire, Total Gallery, at Tattersalls Sales, Newmarket, England. It is all the more gratifying to see a pure sprinter produce a horse who has the capacity to stay 2400 metres, resoundingly winning the Bangalore Derby in addition to his previous success in the Bangalore 2000 Guineas. Wishing the connections many more successes with this impressive horse!

Hi All,

The Invader is half brother to Viscount (Late Gestapo). How can you even think that the owners would have bought it for 2-400000. Kindly do some research before posting your insane comments.

Congratulations to winning connection of The Invader in the Bangalore Derby Stakes. There is a turning point for trainer G Nityananda and there will be no looking back in the future classics. Keep going!

Never thought a Total Gallery progeny will win a Derby.!.So much so for fashionably bred horses sold at fancy prices!!  It is certainly a great news for small breeders and small owners!!!  Trainer Nityanada should be congratulated for his never say die attitude. Many other trainers would have made The Invader a handicap horse,  landing many gambles enroute

Many Congratulations to the winning team. A historic moment for Trainer Nityanand! as it is doubtful he will achieve another such milestone. Jockey Trevor again excelled as inspite of a lazy walk out of the barrier, he nursed him well and produced a sparkling run at the business end. In my humble view, Jockey Allan erred in pushing Is'nt She lovely to the front a tad too early; however, nothing to take away the fabulous burst of speed from the Invader.

Congratulations once again.

Congrats The Invader team. The trainer Nityanand and the breeders have turned a new leaf which has given hope to other small owners/ trainers to challenge the hyped breeders and big owners. Luckily , the trainer had the services of a good jockey due to the big guns underestimating the potential of Invader and it's breeding. Otherwise they would have engaged him with some also ran. It was a very impressive win against some formidable and more impressively bred horses at least on paper. Given a good horse this trainer proved that he is ready to challenge the hyped ones.
