Like every year there will be rotation of the turf for the invitation cup and this year the invitation carnival moves to Hyderabad. 12 champion challengers from different turfs have been accepted to run this race. The invitation carnival begins on Saturday and 2 main races to be run on Saturday will be sprinters cup and Stayers cup 2 races on Sunday will be the invitation cup and Suresh Mahindra Multi Million. There are 8 horses who are 4 year old and 4 horses who are above 4 years. The main threat to 4 years old horses will be from old horses who have already raced in invitation on couple of occasions and won Desert God winner of 2016 and Kangra winner of 2018. Slazaar runner up his 3rd invitation race and will be the one to watch.

1 Desert god (Burden of proof - Running flame ) age 7 years

This is the topmost horse from the stables of champion trainer Padmanabhan and will be fancied for the invitation cup

Total runs 22 winner of 15 races placed 2nd thrice placed 3rd twice

Desert God started his career in 2015 in Banglore, later he moved to Hyd and won Deccan Colts championship, then he went on to win Hyderabad Derby, he was beaten by Mogadishu in Mysore Derby, later moved to Kolkatta and won 2000guineas and Derby. Then rested and was brought to Western India for the Indian derby he was ridden by champion jockey David Allan and went on to win the Indian derby he then moved to south India for the invitation cup and won the race easily /, he then won the maharajas gold cup, he then moved on to Bangalore to win the Bangalore St Leger, and then moved on and won indian st leger at Pune.

IN 2016 he headed towers Dubai there he runs 7 races in Dubai and was placed 3rd once after the journey to Dubai he came to India in 2018 and in very first race the chief justice cup he lost the race may be due to change of course and after a long gap from Indian turf the very next run for was entered in Banglore st leger he won there easily he then won the president pf india gold cup and moved on to hyderabad for st leger and won there comfortably after a long gap he was brought to mumbai and lost to inform smasher from the stables of pessi shroff

overall he looks good in morning tracks abd is very wel prepared for the race we know the trainer has the record to train the horses for classic and there is no doubt about the distance and with David Allan in saddle he looks the one to beat.

2 Salazaar (Burden of proof - Saddle star) 6 yrs 

total runs 21 winner of 8 runs , 2nd on 3 occasions 3rd on 2 races

This is also the topmost horse from the stables of trainer Irfan Ghatala he also has ran on almost all turfs in india and performed brilliantly. HE ran ahead of desert god in chief justice cup .He is only the horse in the field who is running 3rd invitation 

HE won the consecutive races of the career and then moved on to south india to run for 2000 guineas he finished 4th in the race, he then went on to win the south indian derby, he was rested and brought to western india for the indian derby where he finished 6th , he then moved on to Bangalore for the invitation cup and finished 5th , he ran maharajas gold cup , governors cup , maharajas cup an finished 8th , 5th and 5th in that race. HE then moved on to Hyderabad for Golconda st leger and went on to win it easily, he then won the chief justice cup easily by beating desert god, he was then brought to Banglore for st leger anf finished 4th , he finished 4th in governors cup and went on to win the Governor’s cup , he finished 2nd in Golconda st leger

He looks good in the morning track he has been matured with every run and is the only horse in the field to run 3rd invitation with s Zervan in the saddle he looks a tough contender

3 Smasher (Multidimensional - exquisite) 4 years 

total runs 11 winner of 5 races and placed 2nd once

Improving 4 year old and in form horse from the stables of champion trainer pessi shroff the trainer has records to prepare classic horses 

Smasher started his career in 2017 his first win came after 4 runs in class 4 where he won by 43/4 lengths , he then moved on to win 1 more race in class 4 by 1 length , he then ran in class 3 and finished 4th to sacred roman , he then easily won in class 3 where he beat Roberta by 93/4 lengths , he then ran gr3 race where he won against desert god by 4 lengths

The recent track work shows that the horse is very well prepared and is improving with every run he looks a promising horse and with ns parmar in saddle he will look to complete the hat trick he is the horse to watch and will have a bold show

4 Kangra 9 (Wetern aristocract - georgiana) 5 years

improving 5 year old filly from the yards od trainer ss attoolahi this Bangalore challenger filly has done well and improved with every run .She is the winner of previous years invitation cup where she beat temerity in the straight to lift the invitation cup .Recently she finished 2nd in Kolkata to who makes the rules

kangra started her career in class 2 in 2017 won comfortably in 6f ,she went on to finish 5tt in fillies championship stakes , she finished 4th in indian derby , she went on to win Mysore 1000 guineas gr 3 , she ran 5th in pune derby , she went on to win 1000guineas in south india , she finished 2nd in Bangalore 1000 guineas , she went on to win banglore oaks and derby , she then moved on to Kolkata to win the invitation cup , she won nizams gold cup , she finished on 2nd in indian champion cup by verdict of shd

started his racing career in 2018 and won 1400m race in 3 years old in banglore by 21/4 lengths, after that he moved on to Mumbai to run in poonawall breeders million gr1 and finished 2nd to cofe castle , he than ran colts championship gr3 in Mumbai and easily won by 53/4 lengths this time it was 1600m , he then moved to Bangalore for youngsters million and won by 53/4 lengths, he then moved to Bangalore and finished 2nd in colts gr1 race to sir cecil the verdict was just by hd, he then finished 2nd to sir Cecil aging in Bangalore derby , he was then taken to Hyderabad and easily won the deccan derby , he then moved on to Mumbai and finished 2nd to sir Cecil in 2000guineas , it was the final run before the indian derby the ruia gold cup gr 3 he won by 1/2 lengths all eyes were on sir Cecil and adjudicate in indian derby but the trainer owner jockey had faith in star superior and it came true on derby day when the horse responded well in the straight and won the derby by 5 length this was the win for ponnawala after many years
