on the invitation carnival one of the prestigious race meant for top sprinters from all the turfs was run at hyderabad on saturday 2nd march 2019.Total 13 top sprinters from all the turfs were selected to run this Group 1 race.All eyes were on Ruffiana ( excellenr art GB/ Miss danehill IRE) the top bred filly from dallas todywalla"s stable. she missed her race in bombay DR SC jain sprinters championship GR 2 race just before the sprinters cup GR 1 race due to shoeing injury . Experts and trainer confirmed that the injury was minor and she was brought to hyderabad for GR 1 RACE. she looked very good in paddok she settled nicely in 5th position and in last 400m responded wel and easily won by 2 lengths.she was rated as the top horse in the field with rating of 122 and was easily ridden by champion jockey A sandesh.Ruffiana also became the 6th horse in the indian history to win the sprinters cup GR 1 rcae twice.she was only the runner from previous years sprinters cup race as captain courage was withdrawn in that race.SHE won the sprinters cup group 1 race in kolkatta in 2018 ridden by david allan.RUFFIANA the classic filly gave another proud moment to owner DR cyrus s poonnawalla other co owners and trainer dallas todywalla.she is winner of 13 races from 15 starts and hs run 9 times 6f race emerging winner 8 times and was withdrawn once.she has given her 100percent in 6f and always likes to come from the back of the field from outside in the home staright.this time she was partnered by jockey A SANDESH who first time rode her.she ran for the first time at hyderabad turf
