For Moderate Investors, Ooty Racing Can Be Hunting Ground

By Smart-still-poor-punter | 01-Apr-2019

Hi Everyone,

It's going to be a 'brief vacation' for prime time racing soon, with Ooty races about to take over.

For a year or two now, the Madras Race Club seems to have been doing 'serious' business by offering a better quality racing. (Who can forget those days when MAM's horses used to win all the races, grabbing the first three places and leaving a Class V race alone to be faught among other stables?)

The heat conditions look more severe this year and not many are quite sure if Ooty season will even start as per schedule. But that's not the topic for discussion here though.

For those who have been relying on Bengaluru and Mumbai races, only to end up with big holes in their pockets, Ooty races could still provide some solace. That's because here everything is unpredictable. Bloodlines and work outs (if any?) certainly can make you have the last laugh.

I feel for moderate investors, Ooty racing can be a hunting ground. Jockey Umesh looks like picking up from where he left the last time.

There is nothing like time-pass or interest in sports.  It is purely gambling and Ooty race course is no exception.

There also (ooty) favorites win, place, board out.  There also 2nd favorites win, place, board out.  And yes, there also  outsiders win, place, board out.

As long as Dr MAM was there, in Ooty racing punters were knowing the winner/runner/3rd place about 2 minutes before the start.  I was betting 5k for place and was usually rewarded with 500+ or money back.  That is no longer the case.  That is all.

Go for Time Pass.  Serious punting can take rest.  C. Umesh is the rider to watch.  He knows the ground like the back of his hand.

I remember earlier Ooty races known for last minute betting centre. Punters use to stay near tote windows and bookies and as soon as last odds just before the loading of horses announced they start rushing to play. But the scenario is completed changed now and last year I too enjoyed Ooty racing and played number of horses in win and place and contrary to my expectations the success rate was good. This really boosted the confidence of punters and reveals that racing is fair to maximum extent and punters are getting reasonably good odds for win and place. The participation of out station horses and jockeys also making it interesting and competitive. My best wishes to all for coming Ooty season.

giving false information, forget master Mam who has ruled, now who has to be watched from owners side that is important rather than jockeys.

It is a simple write off and giving poor punters not to take rest, if you r so clear please give the names of the owners who will who can do it for this season apart form trainers, be clear before writing.
