War Hammer has trounced the cream of indian three yr olds. How can any body say it is an open race. As for me it is a formality to be gone through for War Hammer.

The horse which will run beside or behind War Hammer before the final bend will be the winner.

My pick Wizard of Stocks vs Trafalgar

War Hammer looks very good for Colts Championship Stakes and should win it comfortably from Wizard of stocks.

1. EXCLUSIVE BLUE. Ravel-Blue Sonata

Tr: R H Sequeira. J: Akshay Kumar.

Hyderabad based horse. Lost to Impavid during his last start by 4 lengths although came from last position. Should put a better account today. 

2. IMPAVID. Air Support-polenta

Tr: A Mangalorkar J: A Sandesh

This classy dark bay colt is owned by the passionate horse loving ophthalmologist Dr Nevill Devlaiwala who also owned the great Alaindair. This colt appears to perform best over the mile distance and more and also has the pedigree to do so. Has many fans for his smooth running style.

Fun fact : The word Impavid means 'fearless'

3. LIGHTNING BOLT. Excellent Art-Shamaal

Tr: L V R Deshmukh J: S Zervan

Representing big connections, this horse came out of maiden ranks in his first run in a 6 furlong race. Expecting an improved showing in this classic race.

4. MALWA. Whatsthescript-One punch

Tr: S S Attaollahi J: P S Chouhan

The dark horse in the field. Had to run widest of all in his last run and finished 4th to War Hammer. To be ridden by the same jockey, should put up a bold performance. 

5. MYSTIC BAY. Leitir Mor-Memory Bay

Tr: M Narredu J: Yash Narredu

Probably the best horse of Leitir Mor this season, Mystic Bay ran a mighty race finishing second to War Hammer in his last start. Expecting another such performance with CNB on.

6. TRAFALGAR. Western Aristocrat-Bluegrass Phenom

Tr: J E Mckeown J: Suraj Narredu

Named after a historical war place, Trafalgar is a Calcutta challenger. Couldn't get a clear run in his last start finished third to War Hammer. Performing well in the morning trials and will relish this mile trip. Keep an eye.

7. WAR HAMMER. Air Support-Soviet Lake.

Tr: Prasanna Kumar J: P Trevor

Another classy Air Support progeny, he his exciting to watch for his 'come from behind' running style and scorching turn of foot. The market favorite for this race. Has been preparing well in the morning trials and expecting another impressive performance.

8. WIZARD OF STOCKS. Speaking of which-Margarita Rita

Tr: P Shroff J: Neeraj Rawal

Talented son of the Usha stud's new stallion, Wizard of stocks broke the maiden tag in an impressive rails run in a mile race. Probably has the highest scope for improvement. Expect a vastly improved performance from this bay gelding.

Fun fact: Wizard of stocks' part owner Mr. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is popularly known as 'India's Warren Buffet'.

Conclusion: Expect improved performances from the inexperienced horses. War Hammer can win 4 in 4.

In race no.11, Anjeze easily beat Thailand by 5-3/4 lengths despite carrying 3 KGS more.    However, on same weight basis, in Race no.82 Thailand turned the tables on Anjeze, beating her by 1-1/2 lengths.

Today, we have a similar situation in Race no.97, in War Hammer vs Mystic Bay.   In race no.39, the former beat the latter by 2-3/4 lengths despite carrying 3 KGS more.  Today, both are meeting on equal weight basis.  If history repeats itself, it is quite likely that Mystic Bay will beat War Hammer.

My pick for the colts is Impavid or Wizard of Odds, followed by Mystic Bay.

Wizard of stocks 

War hammer all the way. Trevor is unlikely to loose .

Sandesh is astride on many mounts. So definetly it will bookies day. Punters will not be able to make money if they back him. he may be on board ( not win) in 1 or 2 races.

@SVKRAJU:   With due respect to you regarding Trafalgar’s last run  there is no mention in race day report about severe interference or checked by the jockey, only the horse did not get clear run between 300 mts upto 200 mts because of a tightly packed field.

Trafalgar will be totally a different horse tomorrow. Will be on board too. Not to be neglected. Ignore at your own peril.

Trafalgar should win followed by War Hammer. Intravid on his last run wont run in the first 3.

"War Hammer" For Colt Championship Stakes followed by "Trafalgar". Impavid needs distance, cannot fancy in 1600M although won twice over the same distance.

@Rethvik:  Once a horse acquires racing record than pedigree matters next. In War Hammer’s case present form and recent unbeaten record stands good and his manner of running raises no doubt about staying 1600 mts. If other horses improved leaps and bounds than it is a different scenario but before the race it is not looking that way except Trafalgar, who pocketed and denied clear run and Suraj in the saddle may give anxiety.

The Colts Trial Stakes for 3yr olds a Gr I race to be run over a distance of 1600 mts on Sunday the 30th June,  THE WINER WILL BE IMPAVID  WITH SANDESH HANDS DOWN EAT WAR HAMMER AS MUCH AS U CAN FOR WIN THANKS.

Can any one clear me a doubt about war hammer, no doubt it is one horse race,  but SOVIET LAKE breed can move above  8 forlonges( 1600 metres).

Yes Sharmaji, the way War Hammer won it is simply best of the lot. Impavid though another hattricker may find it bit difficult to match the brutal finishing of WH. Ofcourse the Kolkotta challenger Trafalgar who could not get a clear passage in WHs race and finishing on well can follow WH. Thanks

It shd be war Hammer for colts trail stakes. But one thing sure both Saturday and Sunday picking winners is very difficult. Seems to be bookies days. Cautious approach in betting required.

Like fillies Trial Stakes it's not easy to pick a certain horse here. Few horses has capability to lift this trophy. But still I see Gallantry will lift this cup.
