By Mysterious Racer | 29-Jun-2019

why this anamoly . can someone guide/clarify  If 60 & above are classified as Class I on one day and the same 60&above, is classified as Class II

Similarly, 75&above in one race is classified as Class I.

29-6-2019  The Sir. M Visvesvaraya Memorial Trophy

Class 1 / Horses Rated 60 and Above

16-6-2019 The Mayor's Cup

Further to my earlier post,a look at Weights&Ratings ready reckoner shows rhat there is no entry of 75&above.It stops at 60&above.Hence nomenclature of Class 1 etc is the abberation created by IR web site.

Thanks

The classification of Class 2 etc is not finding a place in BTC web site. They are mentioning Ratings only.Coming to

16th June Mayor's cup is described as 60&above Race The highest rated horse at Handicap stage is Automatic rated 85.

29th June Visweswarayya Memorial cup 60&above race Merlot is highest rated horse is at 79.

30th June Racing Patrons Trophy it is true Class 1 race 75&above  the lowest rating of entries is Magistero 76.

I have verified all races from the beginning of the season and all are described as 60&above in some cases first entries are above 80.

It is only on IR where descriptions like Clas 2 and Class 1 are appearing.Kindly let me know the Race described as Class 2 by IR so that I can get to know the classification adopted by IR.

Other Classes are 0-20.15-35 30-50 and 45-65 but no class as 60-80 after they have adopted 15 as the difference at the Lower point the top classes are 60&above and 75&above.

These are my views.I may be corrected if you find a different approach.

Thanks.

@ Mysteriousracer,

I find your query not eliciting any response.Let me add that I may not be 100% current but it may be like this.

Class 2  means only horses rated 60 to 80 can be entered.

Class 2 &above  Here there is no upper limit and hence we find Handicaps at 63.5 KG etc

Class 1  Here only horse rated above 75 can be entered and obviously no upper limit. So when a horse is not known to be a weight carrier and rated above 80 it is better it is entered in Class 1.

If you look at results of races you may find some inconsistency but look at Handicaps for more clarity.

Thanks.
