I made the cardinal error after the name change NRI SYMBOL was actually PROCLAMATION,owned by POONAWALA just last seasonIt win on debut smashingly and was thought of you be a classic contender

It has also races in many graded races

I did not calculate it's old dynamic rating when it was PROCLAMATION and paid the price.I only realized my error on second glance at the name change

I agree IN THAT BUNCH NRI ( LATE PROCLAMATION) was outstanding

Pune has always been a graveyard for punters. I have stayed away from Pune for the last 3 years and think that my decision was correct. I do Mumbai & Bangalore relatively safely. Good luck to all who follow Pune.

Hello all, 

I want to understand the handicapping in the charminar trophy. I want to know why and how the result that happened. I have an explanation but I am just 2 years at the race course.(newbie) I would like for all senior punters to discuss on this. I belive this was a just result as nri power that won had the highest rating jump, thus making it the most competitive horse. I might be wrong, but can anyone elucidate on this. 

As for both class rating and single class rating. I will try and explain in a different post taking 2 examples of two races in the recently concluded hyderabad week. I might be wrong in assessment, but I would like someone to clear me.

And thank you for clearing out the 1.5 kg. I went back and saw the bol book. I missed that. Thank you for pointing it out.

I did not get you when you say Locked Rating and Individual Class Rating.My point was Oriana was running at 1.5Kg disadvantage because Square Moon rated 82 carried 51.5 Kg so Oriana rated 74 shoul carry 51.5 minus 4 Kg ie 47.5Kg but it carried 49 Kg being the stipulated Bottom Weight at RWITC.

It was 80 upward (60-79 horses eligible race) and hence though rated 74 was allowed to participate.

bookies have paid a lot of money $$$$$$$ ( after the raid at mahalakshmi ) to 

be let out and for mellowed treatment. Pune is recovery time they need 2/3 good race days to recoup.

I want to understand both class rating locked and single class rating. Also, I want to understand, how is oriana running at a 1.5kg handicap. 

With elections round the corner,the ruling people have probably decided to please few big owners who had very few(single digit) wins for the last couple of years. One owner got a treble, another got a  double(Xoxo),MAM getting wins and place at lucrative odds, Gazino gets a gift from King Khalil. One owner who was big and out of racing for a couple of years gets his first win after first re-entry with a discarded horse from the so called big trainer @ 25/1. 

When Trevor or Sandesh takes lead at distance post, the race is as good as over. They are experienced Jockies. Nowadays its not happening and they lose the Race right at Winning Post..

Anyway, if you guys are satisfied with Pune Racing, I have nothing to say further.

Jockey Akshay Kumar has also become unreliable. Zarvan again lost touch.

In addition I did back the last two race winners for place... It is simple enough guys, Narendra Lagads wards are all on job. Don't look at previous runs as they all have been brought down in handicap. Secondly, this is my observation and I maybe wrong but whenever a top jockey has been entrusted with as many rides as the number of races, he's bound to open as favourite and loot the punters. 1or 2 rides and he would be doing really well. Just observe, maybe I don't know anything about racing.

I did not back Khartoum but I surely backed Bakhtawar each ways as it had run in the same race. Anyways, this weekend I would post my selections for PUNE just for your understanding. We always blame jockeys...why not the owners or trainers or bookies.

Consider yourself as an owner and then tell me how many times would you want your horse to win as an odds on favourite....

So at this point, I have an infinite question. I truly believe horse racing is run on merits even now..at all centers. 

Cause nobody can act perfectly unless it's a machine you are riding on.

 The question is how many races are run with all of backed horses  being tried honestly... Even if it's three in a card of six I am obliged to call it fair. 

But does it happen here I want to know for sure.. 

Can we take a simple oath(all stake holders) that this will happen thrice a day at least..? Three open races where everybody gets a fair chance.. Not too much to ask...  ?expected oath and farha to perform, which they did .

I tend to agree with Mr Rahul Gambhir.Whenever an upset scores there is a general feeling that Racing is not run on merit.On the otherhand we should introspect and improve the area where we went wrong.

It is not easy to pick a Rank Outsider because there will be lot of factors against that horse.If a 6 year old horse wins a Race for 4 year and over race obviously in some of its previous runs it must have placed in a race open to 3 year old and above.

To just cite an example I take the race won by Square Moon.To think that Oriana is at a feather light Handicap is a misnomer because if we extend this logic all horses running at 49Kg should at least place.In this case Oriana participated at a Rating of 74 which is 6 Rating Points below 80 to qualify to run at 49Kg in this class.Fortunately this race is a Weight Raise race with 3 Rating points.Evening considering this it ran at a 3 RPs OR 1.5 Kg disadvantage.

Others upsets of the season also may have had some advantage and due to the Judgemental factor we may fail.My Precious or Khartoum one can come across within 3 choices of the race but indecision may be the sole reason not to have picked.

Guys all these unbelievable things are happening in Pune races as bookies have arrived. No one will open the mouth as all are busy filling pockets. Stewards are sleeping where favourites are biting dust. All big name jockeys are riding like apprentice. Cheers to Pune

So far best card with good results.Card catered to different set of punters who look beyond timing, pedigree etc and who are mostly anti favourites.

Except class 3 kishor kadam ridden winner all other horses were backable.

Horse racing as it is very complex and trend was very clear after first few races . There was nobooint in backing favouries after first 3 races with exception of mansoor shahs sha has outstanding performance for his favourote horses in class v and iv.

Dear friends,  if you play all the races you will go home with a big hole in your pocket. Kindly observe the ratings, handicapping , distance and pedigree and previous runs with whom. If you don't study all these things you will never win. Follow some seniors here and play selected races  then you can see some positive results. Don't blame yourself

Have you noticed Akshay Kumars riding in first two Races and Corfe Castle ride in Governors Cup in Hyderabad ? He rode like a man possessed. Why that ride was missing on Kreiga in Pune. Kreiga was ditached from the field 4/5 lengths and AK alerted the horse at 200 mtrs to produce a sparkling run.

I donno you are shrewed enough to observe the running and riding of each horse in each Race. Mine are true observations.

Star Comrade had all the potential to win this race......

Majority of punters almost 90% are unable to understand the manner how the races were ran on Friday.

I think you are having partnership in bookie, so what why you are criticising on Godzilla's comments,it is shameful.

As I didn't attend ,watched videos after a day and feel Godzi observing is correct . Just check  Sandesh record nowadays on fav and How many Wins overall in a month ,There were guys who recommended Sandesh day and to follow Sandesh prior to Race and there r Guys (Layers /Bookies) who supported the loss after the Race with excuses of not having merit . As I said and seen 99% of my frdz daily enjoying Scotch in Evening by laying ,it's the most fruitful Investment based on Study , But the theory should b same Viz Pitching up the Best four lay after odds observation and When 100% sure just Lay one bet 5/10/25 grand as Since it's not Winning ,one has to just collect the moolah (Like Independence Day fav and no way that Rogue One opened at 3.5/4 will  receive the coveted Trophy so no need to b in dilemma ) Playing four races and Winning one simply give a Penny Profit and a shout over the roof top for recovering whereas with same Investment one may get assured minimum Grand and above on his laying capability..

I will give two examples of how racing is going on pune. One is on 10th of this month Trevor riding on seventh mile. and the other one on 16th of this month sandesh ride on silver flames. In the first case Trevor got a good jump then he is not interested in good position take his mount back after entering straight when he make the move inside only after everything is over. 

In second case sandesh in a 1000 meters race. he is not try to cut down the lead of front runner started the mount only when the race is safe keeping of front runner. it is observed that the horse is full of running at the time of finish. please watch the videos and comment.

Bro what MR. Godzii told was his openion nd no offence in it coz, 95% punters were eampty handed  after d last race. i am from Hyderbad nd played in HRC , only  2 Jackpot tickets passed.

Whatever you said is correct. One thing I am unable to understand about the Khatoum win and Trevor lkosing Kishore Kadam.  No dioubt people can say better horse won the race. But how the potential of Khartoum was hiddeen and with a not so prominent Jockey the horse won the race most unexpected manner. I expected a steward enquiry in this race. But no action was taken.

But prediction to follow Dashratrh posted elsewhere came true and I did make little money on his winning two races.Earlier he placed all his mounts and won two races one on each day.

I do not know how they will operate lay bets.  So, please excuse me if there is something wrong in my narration. Even though I have posed this question several times in this site, and horsetalk members replied, somehow, I will be always confused when speaking about lay bets.

 It is easy to lay horses that are quoted 1.5/1 or less.  Odds on still better.  Because whatever your confidence, courage and conviction, you should always be ready for the horse to win and lose your bet.  However, if the horse loses, then you will gain something.

For horses quoted 1.50 for win, I think bookies demand 1.75 odds.  That is if you bet (lay) an amount of 3500, then you will gain 2000/- if that horse lost.

But, at Pune, a good number of favorites opened at 2.5 or above.  In the race won by Lucky Luciano, there were 9 horses and four horses were joint favorites at 4.50/1.  So, if you want to lay such horses, for 10,000/- bet, you will earn only 2000/-.  According to me it is not a wise investment.  

Whether you bet for win or lay, the element of risk is always there.  You should just hope your intuition proves correct whenever you bet.  The shrewdest bettor will be happy if he wins 4 bets out of 10.  So, it is always a losing proposition whether in racing or in any other form of gambling.  My only good word is bet within your limit.  Cut your losses.  OR else, stop betting with bookies altogether, try your luck with very small bets (say 500) in tote till the end of Pune season.

There is a saying "when one door closes another door opens".  I suggest we should stop punting and start laying.  I mean instead of concentrating to pick winners we should go all out and pick losers and lay them.  You can lay at whatever odds you can afford. One thing is sure that you will receive 100% support from the entire racing professionals as noone is interested in winning these days.  

Sanjay Kolse had a hat trick of beaten hot favourites belonging to a steward and ridden by Sandesh.Does anyone think that they lost fair and square on merits or were they not on job? Will the stipes dare question the connections and can the steward have any moral authority to take any action against other professionals involved in malpractices?

After the Race Simple Advice :Go for fun thrill and Enjoy the pint with delicious food and Don't indulge in Betting more than Grand per Race with Max 4G (That's what I preach and following for nearly decade as known to known Real Punters and 99% of my frdz turned to layers since they want more money or rather Pickpocket daily ,My one lay bet for them on Saturday was Lay at any odds the fav of Independence Trophy and 99% layed Rogue One ,My yesterday bet was Lay a Jodi in Square Moon Race and Fld race and They r enjoying .

P.S 100% pickpocket Record for  frdz nearly a decade t hough personally I do not lay a single bet on any day .only once I layed Murio in Indian Derby.

     Nice to see your observations, close on the heels of my post on the current Pune racing season. It seems the whole world is coming crashing down for punters, who invest their hard-earned money believing in form and class. 

     As I have seen racing at Pune, it has been quite horrible and highly unpredictable with the like of 'useless' Narendra Lagad using all his spent forces from Mumbai to register wins and places here?

     Why only Lagad? There are many other trainers who take punters for a clean ride here, winning at their own whims and fancies. 

     Is there anything called Steward Committee at Pune? Shame on the members! Even the Chennai race course has improved by leaps and bounds. 

     Finally, it's time for us to tag Pune racing along with Mysuru and Kolkata and just ignore them. (But then, one after the other, how many race centres the public can keep ignoring?)

You are right Godzi. They are treating punters like jokers. Insane racing going on. Since GST came into picture racing is on down slide and it reached to a point where a punter can only lose. Are we near the end of racing? On Friday punters felt the deepest possible pain. Need to be on safe side friends before placing bets on favourites. Racing is no more a royal sport, at least in India. Toughest times for a racing punter. God save this community.
