Pathetic Handicapping In Mysore

By Advait Das | 02-Sep-2019

Hi,

Have anyone noticed the revised ratings of the Mysore Races of 30-08-2019. I'm surprised to see that BOSTONIA got 20 points pentaly for getting thrid placed while Lady of luxury got no penalty even though finishing 2nd place. The winner got only 2 points. If this is how the handicapping is done then how can the punter expects a fair game? Is it not the spoiled and worst handicapping?

I suspect whether it is to suppress the chance of winning of BOSTONIA in future? Penalizing a horse 20 points just it is finished third is meaningless and the authorities/stewards should conduct an enquiry regarding this. I hope you people can discuss it better. Action should be taken against the handicapper for this.

Buddy, the handicapper is much more knowledgeable than anyone else here. be assured he will always be right. Trust him and you will be rewarded in future.

@Advait,

You must be new to racing. Never mind, lots to learn. All the best!

Please see the timing of the horse in that race  and also the ratings of horse who finished above and below Bostania.... You will get your answers.

@Advait Das,

From your query I think you are new to racing.This Race you are talking is a Terms Race for 3 Year Olds Only.The Weights to the horses are as per terms of Race and not as per Ratings as you find in a Handicap Race.

Abira rated 68 is assigned 53.5Kg then a horse running at 50.5Kg should be rated 62 but it was rated 33.Now after race Abira at 70 then Bostonis should be 70 minus 6 minus Weight Equivalent of 0.24 secs which is 3 RPs but it was behind Winner normally we double so it is 70 minus 6 minus 6 which is 58 .As per my it should be at 46.

More rigorous Calculation has to be done but suffice it to say it is not a blunder in Handicapping.

There was large difference in Ratings of horses and hence it appears as an abberation but it is correct.
