How Long This Will Go On...and On....?

By S C Sharma | 17-Sep-2019

Today also a incident happened in the second race of Delhi races where jockey D S Deora of a favourite horse Conquering Bid , finished second took a objection not against the winner or not against any other jockey but against the starter for nor removing blind fold from his mounts face. We often see if a horse is trouble some while loading or very  fractitious the handler put blind fold on the face of the horse and after loading and at the time of jumpout removes the blind fold. Jockey D S Deora’s contention this cost him the race by effecting the running of the horse. Normally if the jockeys version is correct than the horse should be declared a non starter. But this is not such a big work ( removal of blind fold ) where jockey need starter or handlers help. The jockey himself can remove the blindfold after loading and make the starter’s task easy. This is a second fit case of negligence and carelessness after yesterday’s incident at Hyderabad of loose saddling and coincidentally in both the cases favourite horses were involved and most sufferer too. The most sufferer are punters also  paying the price for others negligence and for their no faults.

In today’s case one thing was appreciable that stewards also noticed something happened unusual and also ordered a stewards enquiry before white con is hoisted. After  hearing the arguments the objection was overruled.

In other words stewards not found fault with the starter as the objection was against the starter, which was over ruled. Than whose negligence is this ? Who is responsible for this ? And how long punters are forced to pay the price for others faults and negligences ?

While overruling the objection it is also announced by the stewards that further enquiry is pending / on.  Pending against whome ? Against the starter ?  against the handler ? or against the jockey ? It is high time clubs should take such negligences seriously and take stricter action against those responsible for such carelessness..Otherwise reoccurrence of such things will not stop and clubs will be under scanner for not conduct of racing activities in a fair and transparent manner, which they are suppose for. How long this will go on.. and on...?

S C Sharma,

When the favorite fails, there will be some doubt about the rider not riding the horse to maximum potential.

If no-3, Cnquering bid had won, I would have cashed my ticket.  I had taken trinella 3/1,4/1,4 10 tickets.

But, I feel that even if that mask was removed in time, the horse would have lost.  Remember, horse no 1 won sparing 8 lengths to the runner up.

The jockey on the favorite was evidently careless in not removing the cover.  He has no excuse.  There was sufficient time after his horse moved into the box.  And, the fact that he has objected against the starter is a clear evidence that the jockey did not have any material to accuse the winner.

Previous day, jockey Afroz khan was unseated.  An accident.  Certainly not intentional.  No jockey will risk his life.  Self preservation is the basic instinct of all living beings.  Anyway, it seems the jockey escaped this fall and there was no major injury.  Let us wish him speedy recovery.

The next point is, my bets are minimal.  So least bothered.  Heavy betters lost huge amount.  However, I do not think that should be the reason for us to be critical of the jockey, or the stewards.

The next point is, should the stewards declare the horse a non starter?  I have a lot of reservations about the impartiality of the stewards.  But, in this case, I do not think there is any rule, precedence to declare a horse a non starter just because the horse dropped rider.

Dear Sharma

I don't know how much experienced u r in this field of racing....but plz note that 'Everything is prefixed my dear'....including  Jockeys wantedly jumping off horse as if trying to escape an accident or non removal of Blindfolds and later keeping an objection , just to make it seem quite normal....

I think ur mature enough to take this point that 'EVERYTHING IS FIXED

Regards

Rksh.

Delhi 2nd race : Conquering Bid could have been declared a "non-starter". It was very easy decision. Removing of blindfold is very easy thing, generally jockey himself removes it after horse is stalled. We have to see the rule book to confirm the responsibility of removing blind fold is on whom. But I have seen many times clubs always save the starter, I don't know why! This is very serious issue.

Sharmaji,

Wherever in India (Corrupt India) this conundrum of DAY LIGHT ROBBERY from the Turf Club Authoriities regularly happens as common agenda until the PUNTERS unite and form an association and put their litigations against the Clubs before the Competent Courts of Law.
