Today 6th Race Decision By Stewards Of Hrc

By Unaffected | 30-Sep-2019

Today's decision by the Hyderabad stewards to upgrade runner up as winner (6th race) can only be described as a BAD decision. They need to to back to school and get trained how to read the race.

Let me make it clear that I had no skin in the game as I had bet on Safra which was a beaten horse log way from home, so I am not talking through my pocket. But if the supporters of Mehrzad are pissed off by the decisoin, they have a very strong reason. The below points were shared with me by a friend with whom a very knowledgeable handicapper interacted with Whatsapp, and I find myself in complete agreement with them.

What did Akshay Kumar do wrong?

1) He led all the way, by at least 2L.

2) Until the last 100m, his was the best moving horse.

3) When Mehrzad drfited in the last 100m, Akshay whipped with left hand and continued to whip with the left hand so his intention NOT to cause interference was made VERY CLEAR.

4) In fact, if you see, the runner up NEVER looked like a winner at any stage, even in the final 50 meters.

5) There was no phisical contact at any stage.

6) "Taking my ground" is a charge that can only be upheld if the offender has done it dangerously or with an intent to obstruct the run of the protester.

7) If at all there was interference, it should have been termed "accidental", especially when it was clear that Akshay Kumar rode a very responsible race to make sure he did not cause any danger to the runner up.

8) If you see the last couple of strides, having made sure he is winning, Akshay Kumar actually "EASED" Mehrzad, else the margin of victory would have been more than half a length instead of NECK. So the diminishing margin wasn't actually caused by a flying runner up but by the sensitivity shown by Mehrzad's rider.

What are your views? Would like this topic to be debated in the hope that something good would come out of it.

Thanks for reading.

It's amusing to see the result,HTC in it's years of hardly reversing the placings of winner even if it was genuine case.the running of the race and the commentary speaks for itself.probably bookie/steward quid pro was the reversal of the winner.

Long live HTC and switch is fast catching up.

In such cases before I have seen jockeys fined for drifting and objections upheld if it has interfered badly with other horses.

Deepak Singh has not stopped riding at any point of the race, that's enough to overrule any objection is common sense.city of blossom closed as favourite and objection being upheld clearly shows where was stewards money on.such a pathetic decision is what I felt.

I didn't attend reces,so am not talking from my pocket.god bless those who think otherwise, cheers.

I totally agree with Godzilla's explanation.Yesterday ten of us were there together at Ooty course.Almost all of us were pretty sure that the objection will be rightly upheld. In fact ,AK's horse was NOT running towards the winning post . Rather towards the outer rails just as how in Kolkata derby IZZY did to Tenno Sho.But then Izzy was not a winner there. If this is not a fit case to be upheld, I wonder whether there would be any better one.

HORSE NO 6 AT HYDERABAD THE RUNNER UP UPHELD WITHOUT ANY REASON ,ALL PUNTURS SURPRISED. Ii came to know that the runner up horse belongs to Stewards and therefore uphed.

Guys

View the upper part of video and then come to a conclusion In the last 50 mtrs the choker horse completely drifts and making the other rider helpless. If this act is not upheld, then the Stewards are not fit to sit in that room.

Correct decision by the stewards. Should they wait for a shesmyscript like incident to take action? Warning before any untoward incident is better than after the event.

Looks like the stewards were  sitting on satyanarayana horse to make such decisions, rarely he wins on fav ,if the same logic is applied for most of the races ,things will be totally different . Decision are made on stewards bettti g

Mehrzad is a choker like South African Cricket team. It has never won a Race even with allowance Jockeys so far. When AK loses the Race in the Stewards room, the desparation speaks.

Dear friend's

At no stage in 6th race of yesterday Hyderabad race Mehrzad interfered or obstruct City of Blossom it was start to finish WINNER.  Rules blatantly neglected. It proves stewards care a damn for punters or rules of the racing turf.

I being a practising Advocate, I can share my frank opinion on this matter.

Though I made my choice as AK horse, looking to the booki,s and HYD Odds herein at  BTC,  I have changed my mind to play Deepak horse on the grounds of predicting stewards backing on that horse.

As Godzilla said I agree that decision is absolutely correct, despite the stewards backing and the the AK justifying explanation herein is not acceptable. If AK is not drifting and widenning more than 20 mtrs towards his left side at 50 mtrs to the winning post is not the apparently visible straight running of Deepak was troubled or not? I do agree that AK never touched CB at any stage.

AK moving towards his left side for such a long distance of more than 20 mts is not only hurdle to Deepak horse, at the end it looks to be troubled Suraj horse also. Thus, the decision of the Stewards is acceptable, even though I am opposing seriously oppose stewards backing the horse.

Dear All

This is to address everyone who support the so called 'upheld decision'.

Did you actually watch the race??

I think Deepak Singh had so much of ground to cover towards the railing...why was he trying to come out  beside a drifting mehrzad...???it's what he argued about in the stewards room...

It was absolutely a pathetic decision by the stewards and I seriously condemn it.

I went on to bet on Deepak Singh being penalised for his frivolous objection....

Anyways...it might have been because of Akshay's inability to handle the stewards who seemingly already had invested on the fav .

May God bless the affected.

Rank bad decision. Mehrazad never took his ground as it was 2 lengths clear in front till the winning post. City of blossom had a yawning gap in rail side jockey whipped with right hand he came outside was continiously whipping.Nowherelse Akshays horse touched or crossed.it was drifting out a bit but the jockey correctly whipped on left.

In the stewards room jockey Deepak defended his case well whereas Akshay was very rude in his reply. At one point one angry steward told him to answer only to the questions asked..This caused him to loose the race...

Certainly it is a WORST Decision by HRC stewards.

AK corrected the horse direction in the right time to avoid any bumping or taking the ground.

It is a Dusara gift by Stewards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is fate of present day racing. The racing officials are hand in glove with the owners and trainers. See the racing in Kolkota. The supposed to be leading trainer enters 2 horses in races and most of the time his long shot wins. The Straddle,Cold Frontier are few examples. This owner has never won his horse as favourite.Cold Frontier fav and Sniper wins, and last race the reverse. The same case with Smith and Wenson of the same owner. In Chennai there was a talk and some advised me not to back Tenn Sho since it belongs to a Chennai Bookie in benami. The said bookie opened the odds for this horse at 18/10 when others at 13/10. Immediately this bookie made it 2/1 and increased it upto 26/10.They said if he backs this horse you back it.This never happened and the run and the result showed.

The doosras are happening in Poone also very frequently and the officials are mere spectators or partners. Unless some kind of discipline is brought about in conducting races no amount of reduction in GST will attract people to racing.

Can u state d rule position when a horse leading n not maintaining straight course from 300 to winning post n veering out causing obstruction to run d horses behind him resulting upholding d decision today

In this case it is from 100 to winning post.

If I m wrong plz correct me.

Best example last week Mysore race SHE IS MY SRIPT.

I'm requesting you this will not happen again.. other wise I will take any strict decision about the Hyderabad races

You are wrong. What the Stewards did was right. During the last stages of the Race, AK completely took the ground and made CB to veer badly, but for which City of Blossom and Deepak Singh would have won by a neck. City of Blossom was full of running and AK definitely went miles wide and made CB to veer.

See again the video.

I did not play the above Race and instead played  Nazariya after changing my mind, heavily. I also played Air Salute at 3 to 1 odds place, which the horse almost won at 15 to 1 odds.

Nothing much to be said as you have drafted the points very clearly .

It was clearly a very bad decision by the stewards. I reckon there  must be a handsome amount wagerd on the fav (#2city of blossom)  by stewards who were bent to stash their  empty pockets.

YES I am in agreement with you albeit I am talking thru my pocket as MEHERZAD was my DAYS BEST.

Actually during the enquiry itself it was clear ,one of the so called enlightened steward was arguing with Akshay saying " Just answer me did you drift or not"

Real stupidity.Actusllt CITY became a course fav and and all those goofs sitting there I feel had a solid bet in CITY and the outcome was a foregone conclusion

I too agree that MEHRZAD was the best moving horse and fir another 50 meters also CITY would not HV beaten it
