I desire that you both answer my questions.

Is it legally permissible? 

I am not interested in opening any account with any site that takes such bets.  But, I am asking you just for information.

I am 65 years old.  And my betting in the race course is restricted to some 300/500 bets on forecast; rarely trinella and exacta.   Some two or three bets a day.  This may sound funny.  Every second bettor in the race course seems to bet minimum 2200 on a single horse.  And there are several hundred punters whose bets are well above 11000/- on one horse.  And of course there are punters who bet 110000 to 330000 per horse.

That is the scenario at BNG.  At Mumbai & Delhi there may be punters who bet ten lakhs & above.

What about the tax that they (bet 365 and others) recover from our bets?  More importantly with whom should we open our account and collect dividends whenever our bets are profitable.

All along I am under the impression that such activities are prohibited and will attract this or that Economic Offences.  But, it seems with such bets we are not at all violating any Law.  Shall be very much pleased to know from you two what is the correct legal position.

Of course betting on cricket is also going in large scale.  That also is illegal.  We are reading too many times that there was police raid on such establishments.  But, I request you two to clarify the correct position according to Indian laws.

So do I live in my great hypocratic motherland where everything is illegal for comman man and everything is legal for a rich man.
