The writer anticipated improved performance from Silver Flames Silver Flames and breaking the 1200m existing record.  That assessment done based on Silver Flames and Golden Guest's previous run where they clocked better timings than the Winner Auguest Ceaser.  After seeing the replay of this race several times, I am of the opinion that the connections were pre-determined which horse to be the winner, and Silver Flames rider have no intention to ride out the horse. Now watch the race again, after a smart jump out SILVER FLAMES was immediately surrendered the lead before 100 marker to Golden Guest and hidden the horse along rails around a wall of horses. At no point of time SF was a TRIER.  SF was the best finisher in that race.  SF is my follow horse.

Your extended discussion is diverting the subject to some other path.  I did no say anywhere SF is already a record holder. Then why you asked me this question "How many track record holder have you witnessed bettering their existing record on the same track?".  Please do not deviate from the point of discussion and deliberately target someone. In the title I typed 1000 that was atypographical mistake, overlooked even after publishing, however I meant it 1200m only.   The horse did not run upto my expectation is another matter.  Post race, my doubt was how two horses clocked better timing in their previous outings, running with weight advantage over the same distance can run so badly against the the winner who clocked a poor timing.  When this post is about breaking the record of 1200 m, we cannot forget class-III and Class-IV horses while winning clock  better timings, and Class-I and Class-2 horses are clocking poor timings.

But Big establishment and guardian of IndianRacing cannot afford to give incorrect info. Poonawala Stud Farms informs us in their website CAPTAIN EO won the South India Derby Stakes in 1990. (OXFORD BLUEwas the 1990 S.I Derby Winner). CAPTAIN EO won the S, I Derby in 1991.

You   cannot break a 1000 mtr record in a 1200 mtrs race.It is clear some do not even see the card

The race was a sprint (6f) and how could Silver Flames break the 5f record?

,Snowy Day in LA (dam of Augustus Caesar) is half sister to Kistena who won Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp, Gr.1, Europe's top sprint over 1000 m. We are all wiser after race because we don't spend enough time doing full checks before race.

I have always maintained that Mumbai races is not for punters.  Boone can win here.  

What a bad race today in Mumbai.  Class 5 favorites is wining and class  3 and  class 2 horse are loosing.  Haaaaaa

The Eventual winner is - AGUSTUS CEASER.

Never in my dream I considered it a sprinter.

Not today buddy. The distance shown is 1200 meters.

SILVER FLAMES is a over rated fully.It win it's first run well and then lost its way never to recover.its last run it struggled

My view purely my view I may be wrong but SILVER FLAMES won't finish in top three

My fancy for this race is SHARAREH (timing) , in fact my Day's Best, from EXCELLENT GOLD (Cl-1 demotee)
