In the Indian Derby I had played war hammer as well as Julliate Rs.10000/- each for win @ 35/10

my investment was Rs.22000/- and return 45000/-

I earn profit Rs.23000/-

I will apply same logic for invitation cup if Odds like this or will play place bet Star superior (60paisa) doen't matter.

How could I forget the talented but unfortunate son of mighty Cordon Bleu!

He was named Continual. To this day I believe, and still hold strong to it, that he would eclipsed Squanderer and Elusive Pimpernel in performance.

I don't know how many did get to the talented Continual in action. He simply treated his rivals with utmost contempt in all his 7 starts.
Several lengths to a 'distance' separated him in each of those starts.

He was never quoted more than 40/100 in any of his starts for so dominating was his performance.

I would regale you of a friend of mine who believed, and did make money too, in 'eating the favourite.

This incident pertains to the Mysore derby. Those days we had the odds out the previous night itself. He was quoted at a measly 15/100 ( night odds), But come race time, the odds shot up to 40/100. My friend kept eating at every .05 paisa increase. 

He did ask me of my opinion. I told him that 3 sound legs will prove good enough. To which he quipped with a smirk on his face, in Hindi, - 'Mere ko khabar mila hai ki Continual ko fever hua and thoda kamjoor hai'.

To cut it short, it my friend who developed fever post the race. Continual romped home an easy victor.

He kept getting better with each victory. His striding action was so graceful akin to poetry in motion.
Unfortunately his racing career was cut short while being exercised on the all weather track. He broke his fetlock and never recovered from the injury sustained.

For me, Continual was equine supreme - the best ever.

He remained unbeaten in 7 starts that he had had and claimed the Mysore 2000gnm Mysore derby, Indian 2000gn and RR Ruia gold cup.

Believe me, to this day, I feel deeply saddened for Continual not achieving what he was destined for - Greatness!

Juliette will not be in board, let her have any handicap advantage. 1.5 kgs from war hammer and 3.5 kgs from star Superior and adjudicate? Really??? Big handicap advantage.  Juliette is an ordinary filly and she proved that in the derby. One oaks win pronounced her as the queen filly and queen of the turf, adjectives used to describe horses like Jacqueline. Absolutely ridiculous. Who did she beat in the oaks? A finished horse called well connected and a string of ordinary horses behind. What has Juliette done before that? Beat sultan Suleman in the morvi? Really???

What handicap advantage are you talking about, for Juliette ???   Other than the 1-1/2 kg allowance for fillies (which was there in the Derby as well), there will be no other advantage for Juliette vis-a-vis War Hammer.

Julliete will win.  Will have handicap advantage.

Mr. Mahendra Malya commented that WAR HAMMER -a Weapon of Mass Dristruction (Atom Bomb), so far I have not heard a comment like this. At the present condition WH should hammer all his opponents.

Surej Nerredu has to choose WH to ride.

Don't you all think it's funny comparing War Hammer with other contestant, IN Indian Derby it was Julliete and now it is Star Superrior. Friend's forget all contestant and concentrate on War Hammer. He will toy with the field.

NORTHERN STAR did beat Exhilaration in RWITC Invitation in March 1989. He was disqualified for having tested positive in his PREVIOUS start (Invitation Cup where he was second to Exhilaration); not his SUBSEQUENT start. Northern Star's subsequent start was in President of India Gold Cup at Hyderabad in September.

war hammer..I think he is gonna win ..the conditions and atmosphere are same as bengaluru and mysuru..though I am here in canada eager to watch the race..

30/100 for WH. A winner  from 400 mts all the way to wire.

War Hammer needs to win the next race to equal Exhilaration's unblemished record of 9 out of nine. Exhilaration retired unbeaten after nine starts.

For those unaware, Exhilaration did get beat by Northern Star in the RWITC Inviational CuP ( presently known as RWITC Gold Cup ) but got the race under controversial circumstances. That being Northern Star tested positive in his subsequent start and the stewards in their wisdom chose to disqualify him in the mentioned race too ( RWITC Invitational Cup ).

Another classic winner who retired unbeaten was Her Excellency ( 6/6 ).

Whoever ride doesn't matter.

Star Superior is vulnerable over 2400 MTS he is not a distance horse he is best up to a mile to 10 furlongs. War hammer is far far far superior to him. He will beat SS in the invitation cup  you can forget about Desert God he will not be on board this Invitation.

War Hammer may just write the history books by being an unbeaten animal in India till retirement. Something even the mighty elusive pimpernel could not achieve. He was one of the greatest horses to race. I am not saying war hammer is better but if he maintains current form he will stay unbeaten. Then let star Superior or adjudicate or desert God watch is tail swishing from behind

It's clear, owners have spoken post derby that Suraj is retained to ride war hammer whenever it runs. So forget star superior who is riding. 

War hammer will be riding 

I think there is no horse in India to beat War Hammer now . He is in  outstanding form and the way he won Indian Darby mind bowling. In invitation cup one horse race, doesn't matter who ride him suraj or other. 

Suraj will definitely choose War Hammer and emerge victorious .

In the invitation cup war hammer will erase the meet record after the good rest. Or else it should have set the record on the indian derby day.

So don't waste time and money. 

Only 1 Danger for War Hammer i.e Desert God.

It is foolish to think Suraj would choose Star Superior. Just think about it, war hammer humiliated the field by over 7 lengths. Star superior will be carry extra kilos and clearly that's a disadvantage which costed Desert God in last year's invitation.
