Delhi derby won by the local hero Dhanu Singh Deora astride TOP SECRET in a blanket finish. Out station horses PRINCE VALIANT,  TUDOR HALL and ELECTRICITY were backed heavily but they have all finished in the rucks as they seem to be not allowed to run on merits. Magan Singh P.Jodha has taken great pains  in inviting the  leading jockeys and leading horses of other centres to participate in the Delhi  derby so as to distract the public attention from his stable horse TOP SECRET and he has succeeded in his big gamble.

Of course these are all part of this game and we have to possess the skill  to  predict these tricks correctly before hand , otherwise we have to burn our fingers as seen today. .

What a game of skill.

I dfo not attend Delhi Races. Being a Derby day I just wanted to see the trend there. Unfortunately all Bookmakers at chennai sent on strike due some dispute with the Club. Not a single Book maker opened his stall. Regarding chennai MRC tote less said is better.

Our Ruchi sir prediction came true but our bad luck we could play due to Book Maker strike.

We must thank Delhi Trainers that they did not engage David Allan or David Egon or Colm O Donogue for the Derby Race. What a pity not single prominent jockey Sura Sandhes or Trevor placed their horses.

1-9 TURPIN - Just one run and 2nd over 1100m. Extra 300m will suit and Akash Rajput on board. Excellent chance.

2-2 SPARTAN X - Recent couple of 2nds over 1100m and extra 100m will suit with an apprentice -3.5Kg on board.

3-2 HE IS SEXY - Was 3/4L behind the winner in a higher class over 1200m. Top weight in this lower set is fine. 

4-6 KAFTAN - Won well with Jai Prakash in a lower set carrying top weight. Sandesh booked to ride is positive and should win here.

5-5 FRANCO - Was a close 6th in 2000 guineas over 1400m with Ranjeet Singh on board. Trevor booking means business, should win with ease.

6-14 VEERABHADRA - Won well in 2000 guineas over 1400m 1:22:71 by more than 2L beating most of them running today. Excellent turn of foot in the last 200m suggests that extra 200m will suit and can win the derby. Same jockey MB Qureshi retained to ride instead of Deora. Prince Valiant from Hyd cannot be ignored is the danger, shall place for sure.

7-4 HOPE AND GLORY - Beat Organic in a 1200m by more than 4L and then the placings were reversed in a 1400m race. Sandesh booking is very positive and has the speed to finish the race ahead of Organic in this 1200m race.

8-12 TREASURE - Won last two starts over 1200m, earlier travelled upto 1400m in good timings aswell. Now going a mile with CS in the saddle. Imbali is the only danger, but should be able to beat because of Mull of Kintyre filly.

Analysis= Maidens with most of them have had only one run and a few first timers. So their Dynamic ratings are still not yet established. However point to be noted is that with two runs and in spite of not finishing on the frame HARE KA SAHARA is still the TOP RATED amongst those that have had a run, that means the horse is good and in my view is a GOOD PLACE BET today. Next best is TURIN who ran a very good race on debut and came from off the pace to finish second.

Analysis=FARGO seems to have the best chance , see the betting trend.

Analysis= This is a fairly open race . BLACK ROSE is the speediest of the lot with a good positive rider. Its been running always in front over 7F and a mile and today its 6F.is in with a chance. But one CARD (3) has to WIN today and (8) is also strong.
So ANGEL (CARD3) and ASHWA CRISTAL (draw 8) both with good rating are the ones i would take a small each way chance.

Analysis= FRANCO is top rated and has a chance to fight out with TALENTED riidden by the delhi HERO.

VEERBHADRA is a good DELHI based horse who has a blinding finish and can place.

Analysis= The TOP three are quite superior. TOP KING and HELLO HELLO have come down from TOP of class I and can win any day.But also note ZELBET in race (106) it ran a very good race. It was badly held up at the 200 mts, then was shifted out lost some ground and finished a flying 5th. With such a feather handicap today is the danger to the best.
