Were Mysore Races Conducted On Merit..

By Zubin | 02-Mar-2020

A point to think after a terrible end to the invitation cup races.

Out of so many winners it could hardly be seen a winner approaching the the winning post from the inner raills.

All the horses bite the dust  who came from  the rails and those who made their running from the wide outside made the winning post only because of not suitable ground conditions on the rails. It looked like more watering by the ground staff which I guess did this mess up.

The major races where punters blindly put their money on the favorites to oblige return with deep hole in their pockets in the sprinters cup Corfe Castle came from the wide outside and won the race

Both the favourites iron age and multifaceted cutting each other's throat near the rails and finished way down.

It could be clearly seen that jockeys adapted the technique of going wide on the second day of the invitation cup by the time the punters understood this it was all over and there was no way around to recover all the losses.

Every big Owner, Trainer,Jockey got a race as a winner under their belt it looked to be purely intentional that the winners were decided even before the race startup.

Poor punters backed both iron age and multifaceted  and the outsider Curfe Castle won  and the Suresh Mahindra multi-million multifaceted came from outside and it won comfortably.

The horses who had the inner draw suffered the most.

Eventually Sprinter cup  was given to poonawalas where Darius had no thoughts of winning  and he won on lucrative odds getting Suresh Mahindra.

All the big owners and trainers were given a race  each and definitely the bookies did prosper and that is Mysore racing for you guys.

Mumbai Trainers had no answer to such track conditions and settled to go down with a Run apart from Win.

Cheers to Worst ever racing.

Regards

Zubin

In Mysore ,on ordinary days 90% of horses win on merit only.no prefixing or no understanding. In Mysore mostly one owner is keeping his horses at one trainer only.In other centres you don’t find such practice. Specially at Mumbai 4,5 BIG owners are keeping their horses at 5to6 trainers. It means 4,5 BIG owners are connecting/controlling nearly 20to25 trainers.no trainer will go against to his co-owner even hiS ward is capable of winning the race.As his owner will be knowing the pre- understanding/adjustments he will   ask his trainer not to go for win.Yet favourite, though can win,  it becomes either second or third. You can observe in my Mysore in each race there will be 12 horses mostly(90%).Also observe in Mumbai mostly(90%)of the races will have 4to7 horses only. Why so?Only to decide the results before the race commences.(at Mumbai)

If the club authorities are honest they should put full stop to this practise. ONE OWNER SHOULD Keep HIS   HORSES AT ONE TRAINER ONLY.  Or at the maximum Two trainers only.I request the Mumbai racecourse authorities, save horse racing .save owners as well as punters interest also.please see one owner one trainer concept may be implemented FIRST at Mumbai.

Finally, what I have observed,Mysore races are more fair then any center in India. If I am incorrect please tell me,also mention which center is more fair then Mysore? So that I may change my opinion.

Maybe all horses ran on merit on a big day and don't run on merit on ordinary days

Dear Friends,

Many people/expets would say that racing is a game meant for intelligent/skilled people. Is it right, when you observe the results of Mysore racing in the two day Invitation cup. As our friend told it is for filling the pockets of and distribution of races among the owners/trainers with earlier understanding and also for filling the pockets of bookies and fooling the punters who follow the form and lose their moneys in lots.

Dear Readers,

Mysore is Mysore. Dont try to beg big at Mysore. This is a lessor I learn from the two day invitation cup racing. I believe every one will agree with me.

Zubin, Thanks for the writeup, Punters are in a shock and nobody wants to talk what happened. Let me give you my observation, might be wrong.

Day 1:

Except Shervin, Karadeniz, Ambrosio and somewhat Rapunzel seems like won on merit or had their day. Subha Ka Tara can be an upsetter who belongs to superior class. What about others??

Star Sapphire????

Multifaceted, entered to run on both days, I can say it was intentionally that he Suraj did not run it on merit and kept it for next day at better odds. The horse has not won over 1200m before and previously beat most of them by a minimum margin of 6+ L . If the ground did not suit how can he perform the next day on the same ground. This was totally fixed and Suraj should have been banned.

Lagopus - Suddenly became favorite from nowhere?? Beat young horses. How come??

Day 2:

The Great Gatsby, Vachen, Trafalgar and Adjudicate won on merit. Striking Memory to some extent.

Multifaceted was totally fixed. Aachen and Starry Wind could be huge upsets in their class.
