2020 Invitation Weekend Ptr Contest: Scroll Of Honour

By Glasgow Prince | 03-Mar-2020

Thank you Mr Sagar for inviting me to declare the toppers of the Invitation Day PTR Contest. I am honoured and humbled by the privilege.

Anyone who knows Mr Sagar cannot but be affected by his infectious passion, enthusiasm and conviction about anything he does………be it is about thoroughbred ratings or astro-philosophical musings. Despite his demanding lifestyle he somehow manages to keep his date with such unique PTR contests.

Let us all start with a round of applause for Mr Sagar and his team on the successful conclusion of one more contest. The efforts of the hardworking GS warrant a special mention.

The short duration of the Invitation week PTR contest makes it more like a T20 game as compared to the test match like character of the four derbies contest. As far as the ranking in the contest is concerned, luck gets to play a bigger hand in the former. The contest gets over before you know it. Catching up is more or less taken out of the equation. Consequently all the players who finished in the top ten can be said to have played a very strong inning. Coincidentally it so happens that they are also the ones who notched up scores in excess of 2 lakhs. The top ten with their scores are:

1. Bobby 14,96,200

2. Gaja Reddi 8,62,350

3. Drams 8,03,250

4. Swapnil 6,11,800

5. Raj Delhi 4,94,000

6. Srinivas 4,08,000

7. BVS Prasad 4,05,000

8. BKD 2,54,000

9. The Joker 2,09,000

10. Tiger 2,08,500

Heartiest congratulations to all the top ten!

It would be apt to say that Bobby unleashed a terrific burst on the second day and streaked clear of the field building up a score of almost 15 lakh. What a smashing victory. He is the solitary millionaire of the contest. He deserves a standing ovation for this staggering feat.

Gaja Reddi, Drams, Swapnil, Raj Delhi, Sriniwas and BVS Prasad also deserve special acclaim because all of them managed to make a profit over the gross investment of 372000.

The PTR chain of contests has fostered a feeling of camaraderie among the participants and all the players who took part in the contest deserve a special clap. I am sure everyone will be analyzing the results and fine tuning their methods to come back with renewed vigor in the next contest.

Wish you all Good luck and Profitable racing

Glasgow Prince

A portion of my write-up has somehow appeared distorted.

I am reproducing the same here

``Coming back to Glasgow Prince and his view that the PTR chain of contests has fostered a feeling of camaraderie among the participants and all the players who took part in the contest deserve a special clap, I totally agree with him. It is this camaraderie and friendship that exists between Horse Talkers that is infectious to me and making me to come back year after year and keep my date with these PTR contests.

I was very happy with the response. As many as 40 participants took part in the contest. Hopefully there will be more next year.

A big thank you to all the participants``.

Hearty congratulations to Bobby, Gaja Reddy & Drams for being in top 3 and congratulations to all the participants for being part of this excellent game of skill

As promised I want to participate in the invitation PTR, but I was in Mysore for watching the invitation weekend races  live and I was unable to post from my phone for the contest even after trying to post a few times, hence didn't participated,

Thanks a lot to SK Sagar ji, for initiating such wonderful contest and for running it successfully year after year

Thanks a lot to indiarace admin for giving us the space for the contest

Thank you Dear Glasgow Prince for your very nice presentation and for your kind words. I will come back near the end of my note to talk about the Camaraderie among  Horse Talkers.

Heartiest Congratulations to Bobby for finishing on top with a superlative performance in the 4th leg ( Invitation Cup) Picking the first three in the correct order was no mean feat. Its my guess you must have made good money at the races.

Heartiest congratulations also to Gaja Reddy for finishing second ( First runner up) , to Drams for finishing third ( second runner up). Both of you cracked the Exacta Pool in the 4th leg and catapulted yourself to the top three. Great Show indeed.

Well done  Swapnil for finishing in the frame. You cracked the Exacta Pool in the Stayer`s cup  - which was not easy -  and you were the leader after the first two legs. I was looking for your choices in the Super mile and the Invitation, but I could`nt find your posting. I am wondering why you didn`t participate in the 3rd and 4th legs.

Well played Raj Delhi, Srinivas, and BVS Prasad for remaining in the positive territory by scoring in excess of 372000 points which was the total investment.

Thanks a million to GS for a stupendous effort in calculating the scores for all participants.

Thank you very much my dear friend SKumar for your enormous help, support, and contribution in the running of this contest as well as the Four Winter Derbies PTR contest over the years.

Thanks to Admn.Indiarace for their Unstinted support.

I was very happy with the response. As many as 40 participants took part in the contest. Hopefully there will be more next year. A big thank you to all the participants.

Although none of the favorites obliged in any of the selected  races, the winners were not unfancied. However the biggest surprise was not finding Multifaceted and Iron Age even in the first three in the Sprinter`s Cup. In my mind this was entirely unconvincing.

Coming back to Glasgow Prince and his view that the PTR chain of contests has fostered a feeling of camaraderie among the participants and all the players who took part in the contest deserve a special clap, I totally agree with him. It is this camaraderie and friendship that exists between Horse Talkers that is infectious to me and making me to come back year after year and keep my date with these PTR contests despite my involvement in so many roles . Yes indeed the lifestyle is really demanding, what with the writing of books, giving talks and lectures, interacting – in a big way - with several science groups, not forgetting a full time job as a Structural Engineer.

I request The Winner Bobby, Runner ups Gaja Reddy and Drams, and GS to let me have their postal addresses so I can send Them a copy of my book `BRIGHT LIGHT IN THE SKY`. Glasgow Prince and SKumar already have the book.
