Secondly situation will be different for a classic Race event. It depends on the volume of bet involved and other things. Probability of favorite losing the race is more.

You confessed that you bet only based on Jockeys..Even im that kind of person..Mostly i bet based on jockey ..But At Deccan Derby I was fully prepared to play Impavid ridden by YS Srinath seems good than Well Connected after winning the Colts in Hyderabad..
While i was ready to play few bucks on it i was standing in bookie ring and TV didplayed the Horse Weights and i took a glance and found Consigiloiri had a weight diffrence of 18 to 20kg(im nt sure)..But Noticing this weight decrease..Instead Playing Good Horse and Top Jockey Impavid for Win..i Went Low rated horse and Less Experienced Jockey P Ajeeth Kumat on Consigiloiri for Place..Shockingly Consigiliori was Won Which no one expected..It Gave me good place Amount but In that case Horse Won not the Top Jockey...
Again In Golconda Derby I went Consigiloiri Which was ridden by David Allan Top Jockey..But There it Was Royal Crystal with S John..Nobody had idea that horse to Win...
I conclude that If Horses are good..jockeys Doesnt Matter..We can play whatever horse we like based on any point(jockeys,handicapping,trainer,connections,gambled,odds)..

Don't waste your time on X- RAYING WINNERS

Useless book

- The chapter on COLOURS ( jockeys silks) is bakwas

- The second chapter on SUN degrees from MC , multiply by 180 and divide by number of runners ,then add 60 and 120 and get three numbers is bakwas

- The chapter on ASTERISMS and Numbers does not wirk at all

- The chapter on PAKSHI SHASTRA  is also useles

In a nut shell don't waste your time on this reading

Interesting Book shared by you. Plenty of books available for speculative betting.

Silver Key by Sepharial gives various methods on speculative betting using astrology. Book was published almost 120 years back in England. 

Horary Numerology of the turf by Rasajo published by Taraporewala and sons is also an interesting book only problem is you need to be present at race course. I have personally checked and gives pretty good results. 

The best way is to do speculation using astrological insurance. You need to track the jockeys, trainers and horses which are giving you money. Over a period of time if you stick with those specific jockeys and trainers or horses you will be in profits most of the time. But you need Patience for that.

Logical explanation for this is Planetary Postion of those jockeys or trainers is in Harmonious aspects with your natal charts.
