The present condition of the Ooty race course demands necessarily a mask on your part to protect you from smoke, dust, dirt and stinking toilets. 

Mahalaxmi racecourse in Mumbai was and is my playground of 25 years +as a morning jogger and afternoon/Night race punter till i quit punting in 2017. I havent visited Delhi and Madras racecourses but my preference of order in the scense of scenic beauty of Indian racecourses visited is as follows numerically.

1) Mumbai racecourse

2) Mysore racecouse with Chamundi hill in the backdrop.

3) Kokata Racecourse for its history.

4) Ooty Racecourse for its Hill station ambiance

5) Hyderabad Racecourse.

I have visited all the race courses in India.

Of all no racecourse comes near to Kolkatta.  Typical English.  Breathtaking scenario on either side from grandstand.  big paddock and bookies ring.  South Indian dish Dosa available in the third floor.

Mumbai course is the only Race course in India at present  reflect as true To the sports.  We have plenty of space to park,to roam around , plenty of entertainments, various type of ppls, we can heard all Indian lamguages there. Big money playing in the course. But still I feel all Mechanical. 

Pune is  the best.  Ooty and Mysore Scenic beauty. When first time went to Delhi, visited course in Nov'89. I was bit late and autowala droped me at road itself and when I asked passerby they didn't know Delhi race course Eventhough I was just away from the gate. Still Delhi race club maintain same rugged entrance even in 2013 my last visit there. U can witness only home stretch. Trainers,owners,punters easily mingle. It's like Circus tent. Chennai has many laurels, but now it's in horrible state. Hydrabad good Canteen also one center where huge money betting happening in this center.

All the above Three are the representatives of Madras.

 Just look at the present condition of the Madras Race Club.

Ofcourse Ooty race course was a joy during early 80s with lot of tourists, celebrities and top owners like Suresh Mahindra n lot others. But right now it's a pity dirty, no maintenance at all. But Mysore course is spacious, lovely weather condition, variety of food, scenic beauty n the people are honest but only thing is the racing - unpredictable. Thanks

Pune race course in containment area and is in interior area no pollution no traffic nearby womens medical college the area totally maintained by army fully greenery I enjoyed every visit of pune. In mum race course is situated in the city but lot of parking place no such place found in any centre even 4/5 planes can accommodate that much space in front of club after entering into the club also you will get good feeling lot of open place there in front of grand stand as per accommodation in my view is mum race course is no.1 in the country, for silence & peace the pune is better.

Till now I visited Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mysore, Mumbai, Delhi race courses.

Considering all the factors my favorites in the order of 1 St to last is Mysore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi.

After seeing your comments ,I will plan next to visit Pune.
