Once upon a time I argued that all right thinking persons should get into racing. 

         Any deposit in Bank will fetch you 7% per year. Bank deposit will double, may be in 10 years. But here is an opportunity to easily double your money in a few minutes. 

At my peak,  I never cared about sure shot winners at at even money or less. I used to play long shots win, Shp and place only on tote. My strike percentage too was pretty good. 

What went wrong?. It was easy to convert, hundreds in to thousands but never thousands in to tens of thousands. Despite spending many years,  this riddle was not solved. I continued nevertheless hoping there was still time. 

And then GST came!  Dividends became so miniscule that there was no way I could make a profit for my style of playing. ! 

We may talk about one hundred things why we go to races.At the end of the day,  it is about money... only money. 

Major attraction is easy and instant money for 90 percent of the Race goers. Once you are used to it you get a thrill via commentator shouting at the last moment. Once you take the taste that is all difficult to leave it. I find the more you lose the more enthusiasm you get thinking the fault is yours by neglecting certain points etc., This usually happens only after the Race. 

Nearly 75 percent are not aware of basic concept in Racing and they take all that glitters as Gold . It is not just go andbet and wait for an outcome of your choice. Behind scene many ingredients are tput tyo confuse all.  It is dangerous fora commonman with a small income He can be easily lured by instant and easy money by various pools at the Race course.

Racing also is an exact science you have to learn before you go in a full fledged manner.
