Many Bigger Challenges Are Ahead Than Horse Racing

By S C Sharma | 27-Apr-2020

The most debated topic in recent days on 'horse talk' is resumption of racing activities and the time period means exactly when ? We all know that  government  is the final decision taking authority in this regard and depending upon the recovery situation of corona virus, Covid '19 a suitable decision will come soon as many other business activities are also at standstill and closed. I assume many sr and experienced persons like Poonawala and Chair Persons  of our nine race clubs are in touch with concerned government agencies and authorities and as and when the situation improves and other business activities resumes  -  horse racing will also resume.

I came to know in this hour of crises and economy- fall many race clubs such as RWITC, HRC and BTC rendering commendable job for safety of syces and for safety of stabled and stationed horses irrespective of basic training fee collection and irrespective of their financial losses. They are permitting few people to go in and out of race clubs and those who enter have to go through thermal scanner. Food and necessary medicines are provided with arrangements of medical check up and treatment facilities inside the race club premises and horses too exercised to keep fit.

No doubt today horse racing developed as a big industry in our country but still this is a very small area compare with other business and industries and compare to the crises and problems of Covid '19 pandemic and the rise and spread of this virus, the entire world is facing. Over past 100 and above years humanity never come across with such a helpless and pity situation without a solution and suffering maximum without any fault.  Staying at home and maintaining social distancing is the only option let before all of us.

The  fallen of economy to its new low level consequent of  closer of shops, malls, cinemas, hotels, temples, offices, factories, auto-taxies,buses,railways and airways was also not avoidable. There are many bigger challenges before the country and the government now. The  country have to face and pay the price also. But consolation is still we are way ahead of other rich and advance countries in controlling the rise and spread of this deadly worst virus due to our timely home work and assessment of the gravity of the situation. Lockdown, hot spots, indentifying red, orange and green zones  and timely providing all necessary medical help to one and all and ensure the supply of necessary items of daily use put us way ahead and we implemented  this in most effective manner. Similarly we will be the first one to return to normalcy soon in compare with others.  Our country is taking best health care to overcome this worst virus and the recovery data is  also satisfying. The controlled death rate and steps to control the spread of decease to community level  and to stage three is also commendable.

As a responsible citizen it is our duty to stand firmly with our nation and with the government in tackling this pandemic. Our doctors, scientists, nurses, police and other supporting staff doing excellent job 24 X 7 even at the stake of their lives. This is a very difficult situation to overcome and until and unless we all provide our unconditional support , this is not possible. Our dedication, patience and will -power to work together will only ensure early positive results. The loss to economy is everyone's concern and responsibility  lies to contribute more on  those who are well placed and service to the poor and needy is the demand of the hour and a  urgent necessary step in recovery direction.

Recently our doctors conducted various trials of some vaccines and plasma theropy and the results are good and encouraging. I foresee early resumption of all business activities including horse racing with some restrictions and we have to wait for this for some more time . But remain be positive and take good care of your health. Hum Honge Kaamyaab.....
