Dear friends,in HT forum  20 to 25 ,regular ,well educated and well knowledge participants are expressing their views  . No doubt they are helping us to kill our time in this Corona  time .godzilla wants racing May be started with certain conditions.If not today , tomorrow or day after tomorrow racing will definetly start.No question of stopping racing permanently.When ever school,colleges,cinema hals & function hals are opened with certain conditions, racing and sports stadiums should be permitted by the governament ,if wanted imposing more restrictions.

Here we  see a lot of cry coming from HT writers that poor punters are robbed poor punters. Who are dragging those poor punter to race course . Because they are loosers , should the race lovers loose their entertainment and excitement moments also .

godzilla gave some suggestions. let us write more suggestions or amended suggestions. Definetly few of these suggetions will be seen there , in the conditions imposed by either governament or race club authorities when racing starts.

Thanks to the HT admin for keeping all HT writers busy   during this Corona pandemic  time also .

Nice to have you back in this forum.

You have suggested one hour gap inbetween races, most of the race courses don't have proper seating arrangements ( it is horrible in Chennai). Just imagine if there is 8 card in a day ! Standing and walking here and there will make you very tired.

Opening bars inside the premises will create nuisance and add fuel to the fire.

My personal view is race may commence in November. Other sports activities should start first, then only races will start.

One thing is sure, live is boring without races.

It  must  start  the  way  it  was  running  in  the  past...

any  activity - legal  or  illegal  will not flourish  or  improve  if  illogical  conditiond  are  put...

Only apprentice jockes without whipp should be allowed. 

No need of professional jockeys. 

Maximum 10 horses per race.   

Declare apprentices by draw of lots just 10 minutes before the start of each race.

No need of Win/Pl/Shp/Thp/Tnla/Tbl/Jackpot/Super Jackpot/or Mini Jackpot.  Abolitsh this type of bets.

Betting on tote:  Punters can predict the FINISH of any horse.  Punters can bet on all 10 horses, say PREDICT THE FINISH.   If a punter predict Horse No. 10 will finish 10th, and the horse finished 10th he will be the winner.  If another plays horse No.3 will finish 8th, and it finished 8th he will win. There will be total 10 horses, and 10 finishes.

According to this theory, bookies can open the odds.

Race betting is a tough enterprise; anybody & everybody who desires to make money will come a cropper.  This is universal truth.  Cosuming liquor & gambling are the two things among men which every house wife fears most. 

 Mostly the gamblers  will lose their wet lands. family jewels, gratuity amount, insurance amount  etc.  But, will not leave betting habit.

We are seeing specimens of such typical bettors in thousands.  Yet for some people it ihas became a fashion to ridicule those who advise others to stop betting.  It is rather unfortunate that a senior man like Godzilla, whose writings ae otherwise mature, has joined that team.

My point is this.  If you are shrewd & talented, and are winning on a regular basis, then carry out your betting activity & totally ignore SSPP.  Who is stopping you?

But do not slam him.  What he is saying is full of wisdom.  Certainly it is his privelege to ask everybody to quit betting.  And you are fully at liberty to ignore him!

I will just mention about an elderly man whom I know.  He had inherited 1.5 acres of agricultural land at place within the present  BNG.  Got the usage converted and was the proud owner of 32 sites.  28 sites he has sold.  He was selling at a throwaway price whenever he was running short and such instances were plenty.  28 sites!  Worth more than 40 cr.  Even now he comes to race course and bets in the range of 500/-.  He is in his late 70s.  What we can say?  If he had not squandered his father's property, today he could be boasting about the bank balance of 40 crore rupees.  Approximately Rs.25 lakhs interest per month!

Ayyarnet. I don't know why you brought the Bible here. The Bible emphasizes the Sovereignty of God, while gambling is based upon chance. The Bible admonishes us to work creatively for the benefit of others, while gambling fosters a " something for nothing " attitude. The Bible condemns materialism while gambling promotes it.

Hi, Godzy It is time to stop Horse Racing. For all the Equine lovers, let the clubs conduct racing without any betting., as they do in Dubai( you can bet through Offshore entities and you should be a foreign Tourist). Meydan is generous enough to give a complimentary Racecard for the races to be run on Last Saturday of March if you visit Meydan.

Their racing is entirely different from ours. All indiaRacing (betting) is controlled by unscrupulous elements. Many professionals are slaves of them. This lockdown is an eyeopener and looks back, to find an enormous pile of bad and bitter moments. I have posted here, many successful gamblers' names, but their methods are very tiresome and mind-boggling which takes nearly 18 hours of concentration Their Cash reserves are enormous. Do you have the energy and technical knowhow? your few successful tips here and there will not keep anyone in good stead.

We were made fools all these days, believing all is well with Indian racing.

Take the case of the Premier (Padmini Fiat model) company filed bankruptcy in 2018, and the land the Pune factory stands on has been sold. Take the case of Standard Motors ceased operation in the late 90s

and the company was liquidated in 2005. From 2016 to 2019, 26 Public Sector companies were liquidated. These companies served a useful purpose until they breath last. How many of us noticed all these and felt sorry. All of a sudden many started to worry about helping hands of the stables and Club employees. All these persons voluntarily joined service, and nobody pushed them to do what they did till recently. Only these people should feel ashamed to have served this venomous industry.

Since no racing here I spend more time in the Net learning new things in life. 3 months of peace gave a clear picture of our racing. Man will never stop learning

Racing and betting is not a venture to become emotional. If a guy becomes emotional, its good thing for him to be away.

all Races came to a grinding halt due to his loss of 2 Peti in the same day at Kolkatta Race course long ago . Unable to recover his loss  suddenly  wisdom dawned upon him.

Sympathy for punters Security for their family members all made hm to oppose Races vehemently.

A Lady who did not know how to dance found fault with the stage !!!

Scientist Thomas Alwa Edison who discovered many good things of life we enjoy today one day saw his own factory was burning. He was simply watching without much tension. Many shouted at him that he is simply standing without doing any thing. He replied calmly  that he himself wanted to destroy and build a new one. God is too good enough to demolish it for him and saved much of his time and money. He added further he was thanking God for his mercy and support !!!

We must always look at the positive side and NOT negative side. Black and white, Good & Bad  Day & Night are all part of our life designed by our creator. If we have a good point there could be a bad point also behind scene some time we may know or may not only our Creator and Master Designer of our life knows.

Though everyone is differ in their opinion and express views in their own style, one aspect is quite clear,  the discussions are all about race punting only. It's just like  planets  encircling the Sun planet all day and night thanks to the racing sport converting all of them as problem gamblers.

Credit also goes to the Admin ,HT in maintaining the tempo by integrating all the members and posting their comments without any bias in these columns. During this quarantine period  it is very interesting to read all such comments by staying home.

By looking at some of the posts  , my understanding of the psyche of  " degenerate punters " has improved. 

      Many seem to have decided that,  " let Carona have a go at me,  before bankruptcy strikes at me "

With such hardcore degenerate punters  , Racecourses do have a future  !

why always punters pay for everything..(2000 bet & high tickets..)close the race its not worth for us..

I think the only way to control crowd and resume races each racing center should open four offcourse betting centers like north south east and west center and these centers should be within a range of 10 kMs from the main racing center

And each center should have minimum space of 50000 sq ft with a reasonable entry fees and without any changes in the minimum tote betting

However the main center could operate with limited number of spectators by increasing the club entry fees and allowing only limited number of people

Online betting.is a distant dream in India.we have an array of international races going on,if we are so desperate to bet why not honk Kong.uk.france,SA,Australia and American races.which in my view is far far better than indian racing.lets get acquainted with these races.

15 june GST  council meeting .NO REDUCTION in any field inspite of many requests So  this is   reduction  for racing is a     dead issue for this year

Nothing of the said things or contemplated views are going to be legalised , today's news at 10:00am states the the government is expecting by end of July we may hv over 6,00,000 corona cases or more and over 1,00,000 deaths this is just an estimation it could be a taller amount , another major lock down is expected , just imagine private , hospitals looting money in black just to admit  a patient, what more may we expect from other institutions , looters are taking advantage of the virus and the lockdown measures it's going to be hard life and that's the bottom line , racing to my view for this year is over , many HT members have predicted that mid June or late August racing would commence , so the dreaming of on line betting , absolutely no chance , those who adamantly presume that racing will still prosper , keep viewing your television and do your maths , may God bless the souls who have died during this  massive massive pandemic , and give the strength to their family members in this grieving moment, My prayers for all our beloved HT members and their families to be safe and sound.  To other Members who are highly spirited in their thoughts that racing would commence eith their expectations of resuming early races , just relax and be healthy and safe .

Exactly three month back ie: on 11.03.2020 , Godzilla came up with following post (lead post--SSPP Dt 10.03.2020 ).

1- Winner's stakes to be doubled up

2-Special prize money to be given for trainers winning hatrick for the day

3- Jockies allowances to be trippled up.

4- Standard food joint's and bar's to be allowed 

5- Virtual booking of ticket's option to be done for punters, by registering with clubs wattsapp no, as online betting may not get nod by government.All punters to be disbursed with an I'd card linked with pan and account linked phone no.

6- Weekly oneday entry fee to be waived off.

7- 20% pay back option to punters ( lost) to be implemented

8-Hike entry fee to 500 but includes a meal , two coffee, three pegs as a package.

9- Special smoking permit to be given by charging Rs 50 

So many restrictions suggested by horse talker's but no one suggesting close door racing and online betting. This is the only proven path and practicing through out the world. 

Racing is not essential commodity for me and if there is no online option then I am not going to risk my and my family life by entering racecourse. I am going to quit racing till the situation get controlled. 

Why depending on the poor punters to run the racing industry?.  Can't it be conducted without betting on horses?. Like any other sport levy exorbitant gate fee to substantiate the expenses on horses ,  syces, jockeys and trainers. Why looting the punters their hard earned money in the guise of skill game?.  Is it justifiable to sacrifice the life of a punter to enrich certain section of people in the racing industry?  Does this not amount to robbing  peter to pay Paul ?

I agree all points of Godzilla except Bar operations. Race per day limited to six card only. Let them suspend Tote for win/pl/shp/Tnl/qnl/Treble/JP for time being. Betting tote for winning ticket must not less then 200/ 

Since Mysure almost cleared of Corona it would be better to start Racing in Mysure immediately.

godzilla ji, yours is a nice proposal. But I think you have written this letter keeping in view only racecourse main centers ,leaving Tote centers. For example,let us take   Hyderabad ie Malakpet racecourse center(Telangana), It has Tote centers at Vishakapatnam,Vijayawada,Guntur etc...in Andrapradesh State,as well as 7to8 Tote centers in and around Hyderabad itself . All together Tote punters will be more than Malakpet punters. I think more or less same with Mumbai and Bangalore.

  So I request you,also write your suggestions for Tote centers where most of the punters enter the race center without any race book but with red or yellow paper. (These punters come daily and play every race). Is it possible to restrict the number of punters in a race course ? . How much should be charged extra for cell phone?.

1.Every club should give the official information about the price of the horses bought by the owner and the breeder/stud which sold the horses to whom?

2.They should post the official change of the trainer/owner of a horse in their website accordingly the day it happend and the reason of the change of the trainer/owner.

3.Every club should provide the official odds before the race,i.e [night odds,morning odds and opening odds] on their website accordingly.

4. Every club should update about the racing incidents on their official website in the evening after completion of the races or atleat tommorow morning.

5. Clubs/breeders should encourage the syndicate style of ownership of the horses where all walks of lives can have a share in the ownership of horses.

6. Clubs should consider to educate the public that horse racing is a sport rather than a gambling.

7. Clubs should fine the jockey/trainer severly if they are found guilty,no matter what if he is a big jockey or big trainer.

And it will be a 10 am to 5 pm card of 8 races, gotta reach venue at 9 am (1 hour prior to the first event).
