Dear Cruise  We are all under the impression Cordon Bleu won the Bangalore Oaks and the Bangalore Derby ( Arc) in the year 1988. But for the people, this is very important, and a matter of pride says the above events won by their pupil was in 1987. Pl refer Poonawalla Stud Farms Website.

Cordon Bleu won the Bangalore 1000gn, 2000gn, Oaks and the winter derby before going on to annex the Indian derby.
 The Bangalore 1000gn takes place towards the end of November and the Indian derby in the first week of Feb (of the following year). You could say that it was all accomplished in about 9 weeks, max may have run into the 10th one. Certainly not beyond that.

The best example of a horse bloomimg late would/could be CORDON BLEU.She won 4 Bangalore winter classics before going on to win the Indian derby. She made it 5-in-a-row classic victories in a span of just over a little of 8 weeks.

     You are right. There always are "hidden gems". However, I was only reviewing 3YOs which had raced in the Winter Season.

    The first winner of the Indian Derby, Princess Beautiful, made her debut during the Pune Season of 1942 on 22 August.

    Elusive Pimpernel did win on the final day of the Bangalore Summer Season but he had made his debut earlier on 9 July when winning the Royal Tern Plate.

Major 's article,  as always made a very interesting reading. But somehow I feel that some  ' hidden gem ' will be lying somewhere. 

Elusive Pimpernal made his debut on the last day of Bangalore Summer Season. 

Star Supreme lost multiple races in Ooty before making his mark in the Bangalore Summer Season winning the Colts Trial Stakes  and the Derby. 

There is no meaning at all in talking about classics when the racing activities are stopped indefinitely due to pandemic.  Let us take up the topic at the appropriate time.

The debut run of Sherwin certainly did impress me a lot in which it had finished a late-rallying impressive 2nd but his next outing, a winning one, was disppointing. Disappointing in the sense it won having to go all out. I had expected it to canter home an easy winner but wasn't so.
Sherwin has the bloodline to do what you expect. Just needs to perform to its potential to achieve that ( win a couple of classics ).

No buddy touching late MAM s ward..I feel he deserves international reckoning. Anyways no races are happening here.  Let him try .

GOLDEN  OAKS with Padmanabhan's classic touch would have emerged as the horse in the summer classics,but destiny had other plans.

Best  of current  lot  used  to  be  decided  after  bangalore  summer  meeting  and  Pune  season. With  atruncated Bangalore season(???) and uncertain coming Pune  season it  is  futile  to  predict...

Hi all Black Pearl is outstanding horse no dout but not come in PONNAWALA BREEDER MULTIMILLION is question Mark and Vijay Singh horse outside Kolkata is also question Mark. In my point of view the horse from Bangalore Forst Falme is the best horse.
