What is pre-cooked popcorn?However, I agree GST at 18% on popcorn is ridiculous. The GST structure is not well thought of and low value items are taxed heavily including racing. Unfortunately, our system is run by lobbies.

Acording to me, there should be no betting tax. I do not see what services are rendered and to whom. Rightly, there be income tax on winnings. I dont know how many can see whether we have one tax as touted. We have CGST;SGST % IGST!

I have given up hope that any sort of rationalisation will ever take place.

Considering the current situation in India, Delhi, Kolkatta, Pune, Mumbai and chennai all out of the frame. Only possibility could be ooty, Mysore and Bangalore. But unfortunately the Govt is busy and working on war foot with covid19. They do not have time to think even about te commencement ofraces. Their reputation and their post in stake to win over coana.

So we have to be patient and all our suggestion will never be heard by the authorities.

Enjoy Races in other countries sans betting.Take  pride in your selection and winning without monetary benefits. You can neither lose or win !!!

Racing is the last thing in govt thoughts.  Forget about racing until covid 19 has a solution.  Online betting setup even if it's done will take 6 months, so much permissions to seek.

People are dying and suffering out there, virus spread is spiking up day by day.  Racing isn't a priority  at all and it won't be for the govt too. So please stay home and keep yourself and your family safe.

We  all are keen for racing to start but sadly facts are against us. Covid is not abating  and many states are  clamping  down  again.

Social  distancing is not possible in racing .Bookies  cannot  operate inside but illegal ones  will  mushrom.

soccer  in europe  on empty stands 80% earnings are from   tv rights.

Here no such provision in racing.  GST  govt had arreas of  rs 40,000 crore short fall in may. yet some keep talking of reduction The latest  is precooked popcorn now at 18% up from 5 %. 

So what form racing will take if and but.

Hi all,  hello everyone all are good there is no chance of racing in India in 2020 because goverment not reduced Gst and 28% Gst means kill all punter as you see the rate of petrol and diesel are same in India .the common sense is if other thing rate not reduced then why Gst rate is reduced the government and it also leed the illegal bookmakers .so my suggestion is enjoy international racing till the Indian racing resume.

Iron Man                                                                  With covid cases spiking in every nook and corner of the country , the govt and health sectors raking their brains to curb the pandemic which has created havoc on mankind.the last thing on everyone's  mind is the resumption of races forget giving the nod racing is the least priority  for the concerned authorities.i don't see it happening this year,at best in summer of 2021.your optimism is palpable,but this is the bitter truth.

If people above 55 / 60 are not allowed in to the racecourse / clubs, then who will conduct the racing , hoiw many stewards / chairman in each race clubs are below 55 / 60 to conduct races. Can racing be run withiut stewards ?

Now questions are:

1. Why Govt. can't allow bookies and their staff to start work?
2. Why Govt. can't allow punters?

Social distancing,mask,spitting in open should be banned with fine.  

People above age of 55/60 and below 18 should not be allowed in clubs.

Bookies must not have 6 worker/employee including owner on their books on working time. 

There should be at least one security man at every book and in the clubs also so that they can see the rules should be follow regarding covid19.

Temperature reading machine at gates and gloves for everyone from outside like punters, shopekeeprs, bookies should be there in rules book....

So many steps govt can take and everything will be good then.. So many workers and punters are waiting and the main thing Govt. can have so much revenue from this field...on ground social distancing is not in hands but in club Govt. can easily manage it.
