Good news to all. Government of West Bengal has given permission to RCTC for commencement of online betting. It will be in action in a month or two.

Raghavan. Most buy Racebooks only at the Clubs premises.whether for the day or for a later date. Very few people carry racebooks home for analysis. Long back many Book stalls were selling Racebooks in the Madras. Now only in a few locations, you could buy. Nothing like holding a Book and leafing thru it. Will the Racebook publication(original vel) print as many copies they were printing as before Corona? I have seen in Bookmakers' house only, Racebooks were scattered all around in a Room. How many punters are seen with Racebooks in hand at their homes? The majority buy books, enter, lose money, , while coming out, with so much contempt, threw the book as if they were carrying Dung.

If Bangalore & Kolkata have been granted permission, then it shall be safe to presume that the same scheme will be extended to other centers also.
But, I have a strong reservation about the move proving a big hit at Chennai and Ooty.
Let us wait and watch. It seems Pune and Bangalore are thinking of races without spectators from 15th August. Of course what I am saying is only heresay or rumor.
Normally summer races at BTC used to end by 15th August. Now, they say it may begin on 15th August. God only knows.

Great and Uplifting news Mr. Rao. Thank you very much for attempting to lift the gloom and Doom!
Key to all this, is how will racing be conducted. A protocol has to be in place as I had outlined in a thread here.
A few sensitive states like Karnataka and West Bengal have begun the process of reviving the animal husbandry and horticulture industry turned topsy turvy by this cruel pandemic.
I have come close to tears when I began to think of the poor horses caught in this lockdown. They are born to run and they have been near static!
Racing is not only about wagering. Racing sets the blood roaring and there is no better sight than race horses competing!
If on line wagering will take place, I hope the system put into place is robust enough to handle the traffic. Nothing can be more frustrating than a server crash!
May all mighty GOD protect us all and let us hope that the ball gets rolling.
Best
