Permission To Rctc For Online Wagering On Horse Racing

By S C Sharma | 09-Jul-2020

After BTC now Royal Calcutta Turf Club accorded permission for online wagering on horse racing. A letter of additional secretary to the government of West Bengal is widely in circulation and as per this 8th July letter with reference to RCTC's letter dated  30th June the state government of WB accorded the permission of online wagering  ( May be on similar lines of BTC ) with a advice that the machines to be used for acceptance of above wagering should be located within the premises of RCTC. More and more race clubs of the country likely to get similar permissions  soon and than a full proof betting online system will come in force just like presently in use at many countries other than and outside India.

Now the responsibility lies on race clubs of our country to release more info and updates regarding this online wagering system in our country with all relevant details for the knowledge and benefit of horse lovers.

@ Aravind :  With due respect, you completely misunderstood the matter. Till I posted my information, there was no post in HT on this subject.  Pl refer the date.  Further the admin could have clubbed under one head, I have no objection.    I never believe in lead post but believe in sharing the latest updates and info on horse racing related matters .  Whenever any post  already exists or opened,  I prefer to continue my information  in the same column .The issue raised by you is not in my jurisdiction and I am not at fault, pl  try to understand.

Most clubs will have to go online sooner than later However, to succeed the clubs should have combined pools for all clubs and combined relentless efforts to have a maximum deduction of 25% for both club and GST. Hope better sense prevails with the clubs and Government.
