By building bridge, the people will be benefited.  So there wll be delay...delay...and finally it will be opened to public with some politician's blessing.

But, in online betting there is no benefit to the people.  So, take it from me, there will not be much delay.

Presently the Government is showng some kind of indifference because of covid19 threat.  But, things will move speedily once the Government makes up its mind to permit racing.

First Government should permit racng.   And then, it should also grant permission for online betting.  And then  only the club (rwitc) will be able to announce the race dates.

So far the punters were merrily betting at 10% tax.  With online betting, they have to cough up 28 + 4 % gst & club commission.  Presently they are dancing thaiya thacka because of a a tv report from India today.  Their excitement will vanish by the end of 2nd day!

The punters have multiple choice.  Win/place, forecast trinella etc.  But, I do not think, punters will be that much confused.  Maximum punters will bet for win/place only.

Punters will find it difficult to adjust to the new mode of betting!  Right.  But, they will learn the concept in less than one week.  The main deterrent will be 32% tax.

Whatever may be the minus factors, it shall be better if the Government grants permission for online betting and ban the bookies permanently.

Dear Raghavanji,   even the clubs get permission for online betting, it is my strong belief that, with the present taxation rules online betting in India will be total failure  one  .Ok. Only time will tell the facts.

On line betting is not so easy to adjust with.The punter is exposed to a new world of gambling with innumerous options. a normal punter will suffer a lot by the no of matches. So simple to say ...it is keeping one termite box inside purse.

I am in online betting for more than 12 years but doing only antepost betting  as it is better comparing regular betting, and not hamper job . A very few days in a month may be 2/3 days may play continuosly and will stop for two or three months.

In India even if yu are to build a bridge which wud help thousands to shorten travelling time and having all the money in tact yu wud need years of hassles to get it cleared

I actually wanted to know whether the turf clubs concerned have applied for online betting.  It seems horsetalk members are completely clueless regarding that.

You state that races will start fro September with online betting.  I hope what you state translates to real.  But, I believe such things only when rwitc publishes race dates.

I do not think Brar is an authorised officer from the management team of turf club.  So, what he says may be his expectation/desire.  Should not be given much credence.

50% crowd?  Do you mean 50% of punters that Pune race course can accommodate?  No, sir!  Absolutely no spectators.  Even without spectators, and that also subject to approval from Maharashtra Government.
